@@Vingul listened to it out on the boat at the sandbar with my family. They were into it, my brother heard polka flourishes, and my mom reminisced about the French she took. Nephew danced, but he dances even when the music is only in his head 👍
@@vulpespersona Man, that's so cool to hear. Judging by what little I know of Cajun culture, that's just how this music should be enjoyed. The opening tune here, "Lafayette", was used as the opening tune (though in a contemporary version, ie 1971 or slightly before) of "Spend it All", a Les Blank documentary -- I uploaded that intro but it was taken down at one point. Seems like such a joyous culture. Anyway, again, very very cool to hear, thanks for sharing it. P.S. have to wonder if your mom knows much about history, biology, a science book and the french she took. (Pardonne-moi)
I haven't, but it's near the top of the list of American states I'd like to visit. I went to quite a few over five trips between 2002 and 2013 but none of the Southern ones, other states topping the proverbial list are Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina. Largely due to the great music and related documentaries I've watched from those regions. I just hope Louisiana isn't quite as humid/hot as Florida, because I could hardly bear that.
@@atlas4698 Cool! Yeah, I think the highest temp I've ever experienced was in Las Vegas (118 F) but Florida seemed worse somehow. Key West was the most pleasant place in FL as I experienced it, we also went to the Everglades, Orlando, Miami and the space center. Don't wanna dunk too much on a whole state but... Wyoming and Colorado is definitely more my vibe. Loved parts of California like Yosemite and Sequoia as well. But I could go on about those parts, like Monument Valley, Moab and Arches Nat'l Park in Utah -- awesome! And Sedona in Arizona, just beautiful.
@@Vingullul, right now it’s nearly 100F and 60% humidity. I’d never be able to stand it if I hadn’t grown up here. The humid subtropics is barely fit for European stock
This is amazing
Happy 4th! 🫡🇺🇸

Lol! Didn't consciously post this on the 4th of July of all days, but that's fitting then. I don't post enough American stuff.

Have you been to Louisiana Vingul?

@@Vingul I was there in April and it was very pleasant. I agree with Florida heat and humidity, I just got back from Key West and it was horrific.

@@Vingul I am from Utah but I'm in North Carolina now. I miss the west coast states, they have much better lakes and rivers in my opinion.
