This was very helpful since my cartridge was so tight that my crescent wrench was starting to round off the brass nut. Your video relieved my concern that the cartridge might have left-handed threads. (Did your penetrating oil actually reach the threads?) My fix was to use large channel-lock pliers on the large knurled ring on the cartridge, the one that engages with the main on-off lever. That ring is larger so it allows more torque, and bunging it up wouldn't matter for the outgoing cartridge. Q. How to flush it out before installing the new mixing valve?
Glad to hear my videos helped you, I always like to use penetrating lubrication to help break it free so I don’t have any issues. Before i flushed it out, I used a Stainless steel brush to remove any corrosion build up then I open the house main water line to flush it out for 1 min, i Never touch the shut off valves on the housing sometimes they don’t open back up. Happy Hollidays
When you put all the trim back, does the piece with the temperature have to be put in in a certain location? How do i know if temperature dial will be in right position and right temperature when i use it
There is a online company that locates them, I send them good photos with detailed measurements. i been using the over 5 yr and haven’t had a call back on any of the cartridges . www.auburnbathintl.com
To calibrate the temperature: • Turn on the water and turn the temp. knob until the flowing water comes out at 100°F, per a cooking thermometer. • Turn off the water, hold the temp. knob steady while gently loosening the screw at the end of the knob, enough so you can turn the temp. knob without adjusting the cartridge. • Turn the temp. knob so its "100°F" marking lines up with the black mark at the top. • Then hold the temp. knob steady while slowly tightening the screw. • Check the temperature and refine the adjustment if needed.
I recommend you watch the video very slowly right when you see my thumbs up that’s the first piece to remove handle you will see me add some lubricant and remove each piece to get the handle off
@avilaplumbing9307 your video is awesome, but I have a sleeve on mine which the handle is attached. Yours doesn't appear to have it.. it only spins a quarter turn each way..

My cartridge was on so tight and now it’s stripped. Any suggestions on how to remove it.
Do you have the replacement part number details?
