Hey! What would you recommend for the most social, homey/community vibe hall?? Do you mainly get close with the people on your hall (how many are on each floor at Uni Towers) or do you hang out equally with people on every floor? Would you say you’ve meet as many people as you did in high school/had as many friends as you did in high school? Hope this makes sense hahah. Thanks!! X
heya!! ☺️ the following is lowkey a ramble about the halls: i’m quite biased about this because i personally reckon uni hall has the most community vibe as i’ve found it has a culture to it. at the same time grafton seems to be super close knit as well as they are a smaller hall so i assume they’d be just as close as we are. all my mates at grafton love it there. waipa is the newer one and a lot bigger so you are bound to meet loads of people at their hall (well i mean you’ll meet loads regardless of the hall). if you like the idea of pod style living - definitely apply to o’rorke! there seems to be this stereotype that o’rorke is the party hall and that’s all their about but my mates love their hall. o’rorke has an awesome support group! so honestly…every hall has a social community feeling culture so best idea is to look at the halls at their other “features”.
and in response to your questions: i’ve found that it’s a lot easier for people to tend to get close with people on your floor (and may have mini sub groups on the floor) as you spend a lot of time around them. however, socialising with people from outside your floor is equally possible especially in the first couple of weeks when talking to any random person is just normal for everyone! i have met a lot of new people which is so awesome - coming to uni it seems like you just meet loads of people you share mutuals with which is so crazy but it’s sick. i hope all of this helped 🫶🏼 feel free to ask me more questions if you have any! ☺️
the song in the video is stuck in my head.
