I bought a 2005...really great features for economy car...if I remember when Toyota started Scion ... they came with more features standard that Toyota Echo, Corolla, also one price no haggling for a new Scion...geared towards youth, first time buyers to introduce to Toyota, hoping they would repeat buy into Toyota then Lexus...great concept, predicting xA will be collector's item, they were only sold here short time...LOVE mine... Great video!!
Great video! I’m British but visiting a friend in the US for a road trip so will be doing some of the driving. We don’t have these cars over here but I’m quite into cars so had to search up to know what I’ll be dealing with!
Got mine in mint condition, great car, had it 2 years over 100k and no problems, great gas milelage and i can fit all my musical gear no problem including Marshall half stack lol
You only got 87000 on it? Unless you do zero maintenance to it or you sell it, you're gonna be dealing with it for a looooong time. Unless you get into an accident or the underside rusts out they pretty much run forever.
I can't speak for why they dont recommend the XA. But the xa feels like a fun gocart compared to the echo. And I love the echo. Did CR find anything that was unreliable about the XA?
@@VehicleHunter xA does/did look like fun. CR didn't find anything wrong on the reliability front, they rated the xB higher pertaining to more room and features particularly safety.
@@VehicleHunter I stand corrected, regarding the xA. It seems there may be a possible rust issue with xB1s were the rocker area and probably the rockers as well rust out pretty badly. I'm wondering if the xA has rust issues as well.

Just bought another XA with 50,000 miles. Will be doing a video shortly.

I go salmon fishing with mine and man it feels good catching a monster of a fish that barely fits in the trunks floor!
Well done, I am looking to buy a 2006 xa with 124,400 mi the dealer wants 2,500 sounds like a good deal.
It’s great car, very fun to drive and extremely reliable. Mine has 180k and still drives fantastic.
I have one of these! Very fun to modify and drives great and is very reliable even with 175k!
How you check temperature gauge
Fingers crossed I snag one tomorrow.
I just bought a 2005 that was very slightly wrecked for $500. I'm going to drive the wheels off of that thing. I really like it.
thats a killer deal! congratulations
Do you still have the xA ? If so .. Your opinions after three years of ownership?
My parents bought one of these new in 2004. Had 210k on it by 2012 with the original clutch 😳
I have a 06 great little car.haf to change axels that's it.
Not sure why these didn't sold well, not too bad of a car. Woulda been nice to see what a modern version would of looked like.
mine is same but with 270k mi. runs great paid 3k
this is like toyota matrix?
warning not a high way car, your going too get beat up by the wind on windy days
Justen yang is that because of the cars height?
Got lucky and found one for $4200 with only 87,000 miles!! I don’t like sub compact cars don’t feel stable on highway but for 4200 I’ll deal with it

@@amandabanda9703 its depends, 5-10 .
That doesn't sound economical.
Is it?
No engine view
ECHO and xB was CR recommended, xA was not.. xB easily outsold xA
