After the zillion of compliments I’ve sent on all the young members of this incredible band, I have to add my huge appreciation for all the more experienced pros that keep performing with them (I’m sure because they enjoy it) - in particular Josep on guitar and Ignasi on piano (though not here). I’ve really run out of superlatives!
The more I listen to the SAJB, the more these older less viewed performances come up on my feed, and my jaw drops again! I just can't believe how good these players are and how good their taste in music is. It's all so elegant and sensitive and these performers are so expressive too. It's such a joy to watch and listen to this band - in all its versions. Cuanto más escucho el SAJB, más aparecen en mi feed estas actuaciones más antiguas y menos vistas, ¡y me quedo boquiabierto de nuevo! Simplemente no puedo creer lo buenos que son estos músicos y lo bueno que es su gusto musical. Todo es tan elegante y sensible y estos artistas también son tan expresivos. Es un placer ver y escuchar a esta banda, en todas sus versiones.
I agree with Rick Emmet about the jaw-dropping part. Here is a group of hugely talented pros and by this point Andrea is one of them. The music is of such quality, as are the recordings, that I get very distracted by having it on while doing something else. Each day I need day to go into this vast trove of great music just to help the world make sense. And it does that each time. Mark and the others: Very well done on a great tune. By the way, it's impossible to have favorites here. They all, no matter what era, are the best of the best.

Los acompañantes, fantásticos, con Scott Robinson al saxo, un grande mundial, Andrea Motis a la trompeta, otra grande, Josep Traver a la guitarra, todo un lujo, el siempre eficaz Esteve Pi a la batería y el stajanovista Joan Chamorro al contrabajo (si este hombre no ha intervenido ya en más de 1.000 grabaciones, poco le debe quedar).
Marc Martin is a great pianist! I have to also add that the trumpet playing by Andrea was phenomenal. Also hats off for the solo of Scott Robinson. Overall very good piece!

I listen to Joan Chamorro's music every single day here in California. SO impressed! His arrangements are always better than the original; this piece is no exception (SO soulful!). I've been in love with Andrea Motis' expressive "eyebrow actions" since she was this INCREDIBLY cute little girl. This piece is so tender I suspect playing it with a mute would soften her trumpet solo. I'll be looking out for a new performance with that. :-)
with all due respect, this is not better than Billie's original, and i doubt Joan C would think it is. but what it is is fantastic and fabulous, and a great upbeat version that of course is not true to the lyrics of the song, and thats fine. i also listen to him everyday, and bought 6 albums so far, i just disagree on this one tune...
@@eytonshalom We need to create a fan club and promote this band. I can think of a few large and more cozy venues that would welcome their talents once traveling is safe . Joan C has more talent and range than any musician I can think of. He can even sing as well as any of his prodigies. Their arranging is great.
Wonderful rendition. I also marvel at how Andrea can play so well while clearly in pain with that stye on her right eye. She is special in so many ways. Most of all, she is a mentor and so supportive of the other musicians who are following in her footsteps e.g. Alba Armengou.
Is it just me or does the leader look a lot like J. K. Simmons of "Whiplash" fame? Very very tasty. Great to hear clarinet lead and its double on bari sax. This is classic jazz.
