Canada: Exploring B.C.'s Denman and Sandy Island with little pinky

Denman Island is located just off the east coast of Vancouver Island and can be reached by taking a 10-minute ferry ride or by kayaking - if you are really adventurous (which I am not). At the northern tip of Denman Island is Sandy Island Marine Park, which is actually connected to Denman by a sand bank that can be walked on at low tide. But what's the fun in walking to Sandy Island when you can paddle there in a pink kayak? If you're a nervous paddler like I am, I recommend kayaking from the Denman Island ferry terminal. From there, it's an easy 10-kilometre paddle in clear, shallow water. And you're never far from the shoreline, which is sprinkled with sandy beaches and plenty of oysters.
