  • This 1957 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina features a numbers matching engine with several performance, comfort, and aesthetic upgrades which make it a super cool 50s cruiser! In 1957, the Star Chiefs were Pontiac's top-of-the-line models, distinguished by their elevated exteriors and more luxurious interiors. With "Star Chief" script on the front fenders, 4 "stars" with chrome semi-cylindrical missile-shaped trim running down the rear quarters, your cannot mistake a Star Chief from the side view. The 1957 Star Chiefs are also known as having a more glitzy, eye-catching look, just like the rest of GM's product offerings in '57. This particular Star Chief comes to us from Texas where it spent the past number of years in the hands of private collectors. Under the hood on this '57 Pontiac is a Numbers Matching 347 Cubic Inch V8 Engine with a Tri-Power (3 Dual-Barrel Carburetors) setup. The Tri-Power 347 V8 is mated to an upgraded 700R4 Automatic that ensures that anybody can take this classic Pontiac for a cruise. An upgraded alternator setup has been added as well for improved electrical performance. With Power Steering, getting in and out of tight spaces is made much easier and improves the overall driving experience. Power brakes provide plenty of stopping power for this classic Pontiac as well. This Star Chief sits on 4 225/70R14 radial tires with full Pontiac Wheelcovers, which make for a nicer ride and great look. This Pontiac has been repainted in mild custom Red Metallic and White two-tone paint scheme that has a fantastic look. The interior on this '57 Star Chief Catalina is stunning! The front and rear bench seats have a custom look having been reupholstered in beautiful red and white vinyl. The dash and steering wheel have a custom look as well. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, battery gauge, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and a Wonderbar AM radio. A Sunpro Super Tach II has been tastefully added under the dash and an Equus volt gauge has been incorporated into the dash as well. An upgraded Pioneer AM/FM/CD Entertainment System has also been tucked into the glove compartment so that you can listen to all of your tunes rolling down the road.

My friend used to pick me up and take me to high school in the mid to late sixties. He had a blue 57 Star Chief. I lived in Mason City, IA.
