If anyone's coming to this late: The "builder at X corner" buttons are only useful when you're using space chamber cards to move, copy, or exchange an area. Also, you don't need to remove a shape card from the builder to tweak it - the ? button next to the shape card slot takes you right to the card's GUI.
For quarry cards: Normal vs. Clearing is clearing leaves nothing behind (save for water and lava or other liquids of playing a pack) and the normal replaces mined blocks with dirt. As for the others... silk touch silk touches the blocks (e.g. gets say lapis ore instead of lapis) and fortune applies fortune (possibility it get extra drops from mining coal, lapis etc.) Note that the power increases greatly with silk and also with fortune but not nearly as much.
Thanks! Great vid as always! The Builder is one of the few things I've used from RF Tools and setting the offsets always fries my brain a bit haha. Had a great Thanksgiving and I hope yours was good as well! I look forward to more episodes. Happy holidays!
I think there's a filter for the builder right? I'm trying to figure out how it works so it will only mine stone so it doesn't destroy my machines (stone technology modpack).
To clear crafting in storage just double-click a blank recipe. Also you should make your UI larger for videos... impossible to see (on mobile for sure).
Hey fyi the rftools builder uses 300rf/t base and the hardness of the block adds to the rf cost i believe obsidian will cost 3000 rf to one block also i believe you can only go 256 radius before you have to move the builder. Btw awesome video can't wait for more.
Frank Firth I don’t think your 256 radius is accurate unless something has changed in 1.12. I usually make a mining dimension and run 10k x 10k area and leave it be with its own big reactor just for it. I usually automate the uranium processing with a few more machines so power is self running. Also need massive storage which comes with DSU (long ago) and Black Hole Units (1.12). The area you could mine is what I love about this over say Mekanism because 32 radius is max with digital miner.
I enjoyed the video as it does a great job explaining everything, but watching on a mobile device I feel that the GUI that the crafter has is a bit small and hard to see. But thank you for the informative video
Yea, I can totally get that! I have no idea how I used to watch Etho's videos on my phone before I went to sleep. I feel like an old man now squinting trying to see what hes doing!
After about 20 episodes or so the series ran into some issues. The pack became very laggy due to the storage system included and how it dealt with large scale builds. I felt we had covered most of the fun stuff and got to the point of making useless fun builds, so I decided to call it. Loved the entire series though and its one of my favorite bases to date.
For your next Surviving With series, I highly recommend Matter Overdrive. Fusion reactors, becoming an android, plasma guns, fighting androids, Star Trek references, it's so awesome. minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/matteroverdrive?gameCategorySlug=mc-mods&projectID=229694
I'll be sure to keep it in mind for the next series! I was never a huge fan of magic mods, mainly because they are even more complex than tech ones. Thaumcraft was rough enough for me to understand lol.

I love the ghost representation of the quarry area.
Same! Nice to know I am not going to destroy all my hard work when I flip the lever.

I'm making pancakes while listening to this :)
Consider me jealous! Haven't had pancakes in foreverrrr
The negative number was getting smaller, thus you needed to offset by a positive to continue going in that direction.

Can you use a storage module

Haha yeah I can totally relate
Hey man, I really like your videos, but one thing
where is the HermitPack gone?

I don't think this ep is in the playlist...

Can we maybe like subscribe to you on Patron or something to convince you to make these videos more often? Because that would be awesome.

I'll be sure to keep it in mind for the next series! I was never a huge fan of magic mods, mainly because they are even more complex than tech ones. Thaumcraft was rough enough for me to understand lol.
