I have yet to see a decent F1 official game for 12 years but i haven't see anything. It's always the same shit typical broken cashgrab garbage made by Codemaster and now it gotten even worse since EA own Codemaster. What a very frustrating life to be F1 fans, there is no decent F1 game.

The problem is just like every other big game these days, they release every year so if one fails they never really patch it much because another one is out next year! They should release a game every few years & just update the game every new season! I'm sure they can make small changes & at the end of the day F1 2023 will be virtually identical to F1 2022 with the cars etc & I'm sure they could just release another big patch to update the cars at the start of the new season if they needed too! Just a thought.

Yup. As a Data Scientist/Analyst, trying to use 2020 and some 2021 data is almost impossible in certain sectors. You can't even scrub the data to find any baseline. They're years to take note of and keep in the knowledge bank should it happen again but you cannot use them for YoY stuff. They're huge outliers. I've worked in 2 dif industries in the past 3 years - both of them don't use those years for analytics.
There's a lot I like about 22, some of the feelings of driving I love but even as someone pretty casual the ai pace is noticeably tits up, straight line speed is torture an their strategies wether pitting or overtaking are the most anti genius flops Minor bugs/quality of life I'm not too frustrated with until you realise they wouldn't be there if waste of time F1 life wasn't jammed in so hard it broke the games knee caps I think 2020 was the last wow one personally, Sorry guys but the golden years of most shit seems behind us at this point 😫 ps vettel u legend u will be beyond missed go enjoy ur family u beautiful bastard 😂
F1 2020 was an absolute golden dream you had grip no matter how heavy you was on the throttle and you never lost it but the ai must be on something because WTF🤣🤣🤣
AI straight line speed is a big problem. I've already lost positions right on the finish line twice which is very frustrating. More so than their aggressiveness.

I tried like once after the 1.06 update but I can’t even tell if the AI speed out of corners is better since they now screwed up the gear shifting on auto and it’s just frustrating having a contending car yet not being able to actually contend
Imo, I’ve been very disappointed with the release of this game. The fact that I’m losing nearly 4 tenths down a straight in Miami is rediculous, and I still stand by f1 2020 being my favourite in the franchise
@@johntracey8592 mainly because of the the classic cars, as 2021 onwards do not have them. I also believe the cars are a lot easier on the kerbs than 21 and 22.
@@johntracey8592 F1 2020 was my favourite (other than 18) I found the driving rewarding and ai weren’t overly aggressive but would fight you. I’m pretty sure MyTeam was in there, and it was fun. I have the Schumacher version and the classic cars are amazing to drive. Would recommend
Lol I’m going back to F1 2020. This game is terrible and takes the fun out of Formula 1 racing. Instead of trying to set purple sectors, I find myself waiting for a car to pass and then brake checking them to damage their wing. This is not a racing game. Do not waste your money. Also, I would agree. I think 2020 was the best all around as far as overall balance and features. Seriously, read my comment about the lvl 60 AI out pacing me on used Intermediate tires while I was on fresh Softs… Or waste your money and find out for yourself! 🤡
Is it only me, or does the game feel drastically different after this most recent patch? Incredible oversteer, ai even more overpowered, and automatic gearbox has changed?
i just did a race where it was raining, we started on inters, halfway through the race, the ground was so slippery i almost pitted to wets, EVERYBODY ELSE pitted and got softs, and they were smoking me in almost every corner, and i'm playing on 70 difficulty. i'm actually glad i'm not the only person that thinks this game is a shit show right now.
the ground wasnt slipy at all then , you got confused and went on inters when the track was able to hold softs , ive had that aswel and its weird cuz the enrgineer was prompting me for full wests when it wasnt raining but the track was just shiny , i went for softs and i had amazing grip
@@__MaReX__ i have the race saved, the ground was literally wet. water would go up into your screen as if it was really wet. and my inters would have burned up. i did over 15 laps on them both times i pitted, and the track was wet the entire time.
start a race and set the weather to raining, and go out onto wets, that is how my game was, i was slipping everywhere and they were on softs not slipping up until the very last lap of the race.
@@lamborghinicentenario2497 i've ggiven up doing My Team because everytime i upgrade the car, it just gets slower, i did a whole season and only got above 10th in one race which was baku and my difficulty is only 70 still, Started a driver career, instant pace change and the car is magical. i think it's just My Team is a poopshow
I've noticed that, above 70-ish difficulty, some practice programs become impossible. I had my difficulty at 85 (which I used for '21, '20 and '19), and was driving an Alpine at Bahrain. The tyre conservation program wanted me to drive .3 behind Leclerc's WORLD RECORD QUALI LAP. ON MEDIUMS. IN AN ALPINE. WHILE CONSERVING TYRES.
Bro same. Qualifying sims at Baku especially is IMPOSSIBLE. I lost a lot of times at the long fucking straight when i already have 6-10 downforce setup. I had to sacrifice slow speed corners so that I can compete with AIs' straight line speed but it didnt change anything.
I'm getting too old to buy broken games out of the gate. I don't buy anything when it releases anymore unless I've got a few friends that plan to play it with me. The state of the industry means you're as much an unpaid intern beta tester as you are a consumer. I try to limit the former when I can, because I didn't agree to be a tester. I have '21 and don't really feel the need to buy '22, probably won't buy '23 either. I don't need annual releases in the sports world anymore. And honestly, if EA retains the licensing, this will be the norm for each new release. That's what EA does. They get their grubby green fingers on everything and it just goes to shit. They've been doing it for decades.
It's very impressive that for a yearly release, they managed to make a lower quality product then the previous entry. Bugs they fixed in 21 reappeared in 22, and some bugs from 2018 are still present after 5 concurrent games. When there is an exclusive licence and you have no competition, it doesn't incentivise and stagnates the game development. People are fed up with a lack of detail, features and overall passion from codemasters. I personally want more companies to have access to the license like with F1 manager, so people can vote with their wallets over a superior quality product. They've held the license for 13 years now, and compared to their early days codies have become complacent with the franchise.
It doesn't help that EA is notorious for this kind of behavior. Both their Fifa and Madden games have the same problems you've described. They'll roll out fixes slowly with the excuse of "we're making the next one." What a waste.
@@glxywlf Whilst it is evident EA has begun to have an influence on the title, I hope their influence doesn't spread into other areas of the game like in the FIFA franchise. A lot of the problems at the moment are solely on codies, as a lot of the problems/bugs have been inherited from the pre-EA era. My concern as you have described is the acquisition from EA means this lack of polish and refinement could very easily become the norm. F1 is growing in popularity and the games are too in correlation to that. I just hope liberty know they could make more money and generate a better image out of a developer who's willing to make a better and more refined product, rather than settling for the safe/easy copy and paste cash flow that codemasters could very well create and are beginning to settle into from doing minimal development, akin to the FIFA franchise. I have a feeling EA has this as their end goal, to gain a monopoly on the sports franchise and generate regular income from minimal investment.
@@lytergy0 fair I think my team has been great and the “story mode” while not being anywhere close to the fifa style story mode quality was a welcome addition. I’m definitely concerned about the direction being taken and the whole idea of the f1 22 manager game just upsets me as we could have just had them together as one game. I really hope bigger changes start to happen with the f1 games and that updates and patches come quicker. Also codemasters have had more than enough time to work on multiplayer and they still can’t seem to make any progress.
To be fair australia and abu dhabi have been laser scanned. Doing this is basically the same as making a whole new track. So with abu dhabi, australia and miami weve basically had 3 new tracks. Plus the dlc tracks coming we cant really expect them to laser scan tracks with no changes. However spa and austria are soooo bad
When I heard about this game was coming out, I was hyped. But when I pre-ordered the game and played it, it was a huge letdown. A.I was extremely overpowered. Physics especially crashed by idiot drivers are broken. F1 Life is a complete ripoff of TDU2 My TDU Life where you can purchase furniture, clothes, floor customization, etc.

F1 Life is nothing like TDU2, in TDU2 you actually bought houses from an estate agent and could fully walk around them and explore them. They also had a major function: giving garage space which you needed to buy more cars. F1 Life is just empty nonsense to make kids buy Pitcoin using their parents credit card.
Simple answer: EA - ea had more control over this years came compared to last year and it has ultimately influenced the driving style, overall sales and how the game is represented wholly

the AI being broken is really the only thing im sick of. i was consistently able to compete with the AI on 90 pre latest patch, but since that dropped ive been struggling with them after dropping the difficulty down to 80. and even then, sometimes they just breeze past me on the straights like im driving a renault clio
Remember this is a yearly release game and comparing this to No Man Sky is not the right idea, you should compare it to other yearly releases like Fifa or NBA to name a few, and Codemaster always had the nasty Habit of not fixing bugs for years so I dont expect them to change now especially because they have been acquired by EA, the masters of doing the minimum work on any of their yearly products and they also like to add unnecessary microtransactions and will probably spend development time on that instead of fixing the game, I hope I am wrong and EA will make the game actually better.
You're right the AI is waaaaay to overpowered in Hard 60-79 whereas in F1 2020 you can still keep up with them. I can barely keep up with them in Medium AI even. I really should consider buying this in order to get the patch but will keep playing the pirated version until patches are released.
What i love about f1 2021 is the fact that I can basically run 2 setups. 1 with high downforce which apparently I use for most of the ciecuits because its really fast. 1 with low downforce that I pretty much exclusively use on jeddah and monza. 1 setup for me isn't really fun to use because to me I have to guess if the circuit requires the high downforce or the low downforce.
I definitely don't regret skipping this entry. 20 and 21 were pretty damn good (I platinumed both as well) but the awful MyTeam liveries, unstable and laggy online lobbies, shit penalty system and lack of dedicated servers made me go back to GT7 for my sim racing fix.

@@grekii Eh, a game dedicated solely to GT3 cars isn't my thing. Frankly I wish the original Assetto Corsa was updated for PS5/XSX since that has plenty of diversity. Race Jim Clark's Lotus around historic Monza one minute and some rally car the next.

I don’t know.. I can’t see myself making the purchase.. Their current model of scrapping things we liked / loved in favor or stuff nobody asked for or wants doesn’t bode well for the future of the series. Breaking Point was mildly fun and I was kind of hoping codies would expand on that while they had the opportunity, but they scrapped that as well. One of my favorite things in the game was the short tracks and classic cars. I had a lot of fun with those. F2 is also pretty cool, with the caveat being it’s a single car replicated multiple times over. Really, Codies need to get their shit together and start listening to consumers. I’ve purchased multiple iterations of the game now and while it’s changed rather drastically in the last couple years, there are fundamental flaws that have gone ignored for years. Out dated tracks, shameless micro transactions, stupid features no one wants, while commanding a premium for it all, are reasons I’m done giving them money. EA does this shit with all of their titles, it’s gross. If I wanted to shop for furniture I’d be playing sims.
6:13 i had a league race that needed to be restarted 3 times before we could actually start because this game being broken, 1st time we couldnt load into the race after quali 2nd we got stuck on formation lap, countdown wouldn't start even after everyone formed up 3rd we tried again with no formation lap and only then we could play, it is so stupud
Ive got years and years off experience with EA as a game company, and I can honestly say they are the WORST company when it comes to having bugs, customer support, making mistakes over and over again taking way to long to bring updates and I can keep going on. Still like the game tho

I feel like cross play isn’t coming. EA has too many issues that even if it does come, I fear there will be too many issues for it to work with the majority of people. Codies really dropped the ball on this one, can’t even put all the blame on EA this time. When F1 Manager comes out and IF it lives up to the hype, I’ll stop playing and buying the yearly released F1 games.

My friends and I love playing this franchise when it works, but this years is sooooo broken. Still bugs remaining from F1 '21 like AI in quali crawling around in groups and blocking the track, AI being super OP. Even more new bugs. Gonna take a serious overhaul to win back my faith in this game.
For me, the AI straight line speed makes this game unplayable for me. I'm just trying to enjoy career mode, not have a miserable experience playing it. They say they're working on it, when even an amateur at programming would have fixed this by now
Although I posted a couple of F1 2021 videos in my channel, one of them has almost a million views, I am proud to say that I dodged a bullet with this game and not ending up getting it. I really hope F1 Manager makes up for it. I will post some gameplays.
I honestly want to love the game, I really do and some features are cool like more interactive starts and pitstops but the AI are just too good, like I say this as someone who since the previous game ( which still had this problem in all honesty but it was more limited to certain tracks ) was able to run 110 and be competitive through career mode. Last year's game made it impossible at tracks like Silverstone or Netherlands to be anywhere near the ai and it was infuriating but you could still walk over them in Singapore or tracks like that. This game I just can't explain it, the AI are just too good and absolutely annihilate the real life times in what should be similarly equal performance machinery to real life whilst the player is just about able to keep up with them but has to be putting in perfect laps constantly, especially in quali where it's the biggest issue for me. But that also could be me being an awful qualifier. But hey I do enjoy aspects of the game and if the AI can just be balanced better then the rest of the bugs I can happily live with
Damn. I thought i was the only who think that Silverstone and Zandvoort are broken last year. But, the AI in 2021 is still decent. In F1 2022, it's very unplayable
You didn't mention the patch ruined tire overheating and automatic gearboxes. Since the patch automatic gearboxes take ages to shift up the final two gears. I am currently stuck in Silverstone race mode on 100 AI where the AI is 2 seconds / lap faster than me on mediums while I'm on the softs. Those softs also overheat in the first lap. Like completely red.
Ive been a fan of f1 games since 2011.. and i have to admit, its starting to feel like Madden and fifa..,, its been the same since 2016, just minor changes , wish they added more into career mode, career feel like fallout games, no matter what u do, its all scripted bad
It’s amazing how quickly EA can fuck up a successful franchise, it really is. It’s never been perfect, but this is really irritating with how long it’s taking to fix the major bugs and how common they are, if not every time you play. Stop releasing games in their beta state and using us to do the quality assurance stage for you!

I’m a first time player and then there is a lot to discover and learn. After about 50 hours I’m slowly getting there. True, I had to lower the AI considerably to even be able finish. With watching several Yt videos I’m now starting to get better at the starts and also accelerating out of the corners without a pancake spin. The only thing I found frustrating is that at least 1 time per game session I have a crash to desktop. I’m also learning to use the Fanatec load cell break peddle as this is completely different then I was used to with TM
Yea shit wheels and pedals are no good for for assist free racing fact I got thrust master t300 it's an good wheel but it's just not quality enough in the pedal's to be able to handel the the sensitivity even if you fuck about with the calibrations
Can we have everything that was right in f1 2021, which was basically 95% of the game and just update the drivers and car models? If EA just took the 2021 game, forget the BS of drifting and safety cars, only updated the team rosters/car livery and models, it would be a huge success. Instead, they started the BS pay to play micro currency which f1 was never really about and honestly made this game crap. Codemasters before being bought out were doing an excellent job, now... not so much.
I don't care about how e-sport drivers or youtubers react to the new game, they should be pushed more to changes like in this game. The only thing I don't like is that the tracks haven't been updated to the detail, while they show it in the trailer that they have done that. Now, I also think they could've done more with the damage models, supercars and old cars, which were removed for some reason. EA missed a huge opportunity and I was lucky to get the champions edition for an even lower prize than the standard edition.
My main issues: The Ai are suddenly 3 seconds faster around Hungaroring (80 ai are only 3 tenths off the fastest time in fp2) The AI often go in far too hot into corners (mostly Baku) The AI are far too risky in divebombs and steal your lines Myteam moves make less sense than last year somehow focus for myteam Ai is worthless The handling resembles that of a yak with rabies.
The AI in this Game is so freaking broken that the Ferrari behind me (And sadley this is no Joke) had zero Problems to keep up with me....With a missing front wing after a Crash. Really just try it yourself. Let the Car behind you come closer (What they already doing anyways) and hit the breaks so they lose there front wing, then try to create Distance, you can't. The AI dosen't even react at all that the Front Wing is gone. They keep up to drive to the curves like it is nothing. WTF? It's EA all over the Place...🚮
It’s so annoying how I have to change my ai difficulty every race because of there speed Down the straights. Tracks like Baku and monza or any track dominated by straight line speed are impossible on the normal difficulty I play (90) I find my self having to put the difficulty down to 75 just to stay competitive and it’s still really hard. I was racing in Bahrain coming out of the weird kinda hairpin I had drs and overtake on and verstappen was still gaining time on me (I was in a redbull as well) and now with the new handling Japan first sector and silverstone middle second I just go wide on almost every corner. I’ve also had to go from using no traction control at all to using medium. Call it a skill issue all you want but the game is just bad. I’m thinking about re-installing f1 2021 as the game is so much better than this abomination EA gave us. I knew as soon as they bought out codemasters they were going to ruin the game f1 2016-f1 2021 are the best f1 games. And the last topic I want to talk about is classic cars. Idk why they took them out. They gave us no explanation one why they did it and it annoys me because classic cars used to be one of my favourite parts in the f1 games and now we have supercars which are so shaky to drive. They move all over that place like it’s a sim. I’m playing f1 not asseto corsa which as a casual f1 games player I would rather play because ever though its hard to drive and it’s more realistic to actually racing its still better than whatever this game is.

in f1 2021 i was usually playing on 105 ai difficulty, on f1 22 im playing on 72!!! and sometimes having problems with catching on to AIs...
Patch 1.06 has ruined the game for me. I can’t play it anymore. No matter what I do in setups I feel like I’m driving on ice! The AI… don’t even talk about the ai, they might as well just have Japanese flags on and scream kamikaze as they’re trying to overtake/defend
first off love the mazerpin dig. its sad that EA real first attempt of making f1 game a completely what i fear launched with bugs and micro transaction hell. i guess i stick my old f1 2019 for even longer.
After the update I was just done whit this game. The AI this year is just stupid,a lot of bugs, the AI is overpowered. I was so disappointed, because I spent 70 euro to the game and I just came back to assetto corsa, because this game is unplayable for me. This is the last F1 game for me

I am finished with the F1 games . I as a Sim racer / F1 fan want realism , true lazer scanned tracks , a true F1 sim. The F1 games are just arcade games. Not a sim. So for this reason I am out . The throttle alone in the F1 game is not even close to real. The B.S. Supercars / cribs is a glaring example of the fact that this is a arcade game for kids. Lonely adults live on this game series wasting their talent on a kids game making you tube videos .
F1 life is sims garbage, they should have focused on providing a proper livery editor on par with Gran Turismo and Forza. As for online, it's a mess with the ridiculous penalty system. 3 second penalty for putting one wheel over the line on some tracks, also if someone collides with you the game will hand you the warning or penalty and not the nonce that crashed into you. Then there's the wait/loading times to get into a race, it takes on average five minutes to get a race started due to the ridiculously slow lobby system.
The graphics are not "next gen". It litteraly looks the same as the game before except cars and tracks. The physics are not realistic. Way too much arcade style gameplay. Could've been much more but wasn't made into it...
Also the VR mode sucks and doesnt work at all for me spent £500 and the VR just for this game and im getting 1 frame per 20 seconds in the pitlane ( in the garage ) just a disappointing game. i wont be pre ordering the next game.
Glad I haven't bought this game yet. Not going to lie, last years F1 21 wasn't my favorite and at times was very unplayable. Reading and seeing how F1 22 is, I am glad I haven't wasted my money on this.
Why can't we get F1/Iracing ? --Laser scaned tracks --realistic car throttle and handling model --realistic car visual and performance damage --points lobby performance online ranking system --total control for the entire pit lame process Why can't these things be acconplished by EA / Codemasters ? This all would make it the biggest F1 or possiably racing sim of all time .
The worst bug I am experiencing that Jarno Opmeer is experiencing is the game just all of a sudden crashing out of nowhere, and if I was recording at the same time, it would crash that too! I've tried many things including re-installing the entire game, moving it from my SSD to my HDD and made sure everything was up-to-date but nothing worked so EA/Codemasters need to fix this as it is actually making me not want to play this year's game as what's the point if it just keeps crashing? Safe to say that this year's game is even worse than Ferarri's IRL race strategies 😂
2 Things that I am getting frustrated with in F1 22 1) AI Straight Line Speed: It’s INSANE, it’s as if the AI have all time DRS on the Straights, and in instances where the Player has DRS and the AI doesn’t, the AI Car still pulls away with crazy speed, but if it’s the other way around, AI has DRS and the Player doesn’t, the Player gets blown by as if they’re standing still. 2) Just touching another Car causes the Player Car to Spin Out: I don’t go around causing a Demolition Derby, but every single time my car comes in contact with another car, I go spinning off the track, no matter how hard or soft the contact is, and once again, with any contact the AI cars stay GLUED to their Line, while the player still spins. Another thing, on almost all other F1 Games I play on a AI Difficulty of 80, and I still Dominate, I’ve dropped all the way to 60 in F1 22, and I’m still being losing
I stopped playing the game after qualifying on my team at bahrain just cos on 70 ai difficulty I was GAPPED BY GOATIFI IN THE WILLIAMS BY A WHOLE 3 SECONDS meanwhile on f1 2021 on 90 ai I would be beating whilliams getting into q2 on the first race on the first season on my team
You forgot the fact Steam players can't play with Origin players because it's also crossplay. I'm glad you mentioned that the new handling model ruined the game. They took a step back with it.
The only difference that No Man's Sky was supported for years after launch (and still supported). But EA and Codies will drop this game 4 months from now on.

My ai level from 21 to 22 is insane I played 21 on 90 ai and I was competing for wins and in 22 I've gone all the way down to 55 ai and they still out qualifying me by a second
WHen I started my team in 2022 I made the AI as strong as in 21 which I played later. And I understand that at first my car is bad ok, but after some upgrades I lapped not +3s every round it was +1s after 8 races. The +3/1 means I was 3 to 1s slower than the slowest car which was very weird for me and made me think no matter how good you are if you play the same difficulty until the end of that race year maybe you will be 18th.
please ea bring not only nascar to the switch but please bring indy car racing to the switch I mean I love nascar finnaly being able to be on the switch and it being good enough to get a new game that may not be based on previous nascar games but I always wanted to play indy on my switch and if that happens I'll be over the moon
The worst part about this whole ordeal, I never played F1 2021 because i literally couldn’t, it would glitch constantly and crash, lobbies were terrible and they released tracks later on and not at launch. With F1 2022, I have had 0 glitches, like literally none. No crashes, no lag, or anything.
Same here. Especially frustrating on the Steam Deck since it would crash every time without fail in rain races. With F1 22 i have experienced nothing bad, some sound stuttering at times when coming out of sleep mode but it's negligible. Enjoying myself very much with it.
can someone please explain why on grand prix mode, I can take an alpine from last to top 5 in a 25% race on 110AI but on career mode/my team I struggle to get out of q2 in the fastest car on 95AI??
Same here mate. I was a full minute behind my team mate in Hungary last night on 65ai and lapped up to P15. Then the next practice session in Belgium I am P7 being over a full second quicker than my team mate and most of the backmarkers. I have no idea how to set the right ai level for each track it is absolutely awful.

I have yet to see a decent F1 official game for 12 years but i haven't see anything. It's always the same shit typical broken cashgrab garbage made by Codemaster and now it gotten even worse since EA own Codemaster. What a very frustrating life to be F1 fans, there is no decent F1 game.

The problem is just like every other big game these days, they release every year so if one fails they never really patch it much because another one is out next year! They should release a game every few years & just update the game every new season! I'm sure they can make small changes & at the end of the day F1 2023 will be virtually identical to F1 2022 with the cars etc & I'm sure they could just release another big patch to update the cars at the start of the new season if they needed too! Just a thought.

Yup. As a Data Scientist/Analyst, trying to use 2020 and some 2021 data is almost impossible in certain sectors. You can't even scrub the data to find any baseline. They're years to take note of and keep in the knowledge bank should it happen again but you cannot use them for YoY stuff. They're huge outliers.
I've worked in 2 dif industries in the past 3 years - both of them don't use those years for analytics.
There's a lot I like about 22, some of the feelings of driving I love but even as someone pretty casual the ai pace is noticeably tits up, straight line speed is torture an their strategies wether pitting or overtaking are the most anti genius flops
Minor bugs/quality of life I'm not too frustrated with until you realise they wouldn't be there if waste of time F1 life wasn't jammed in so hard it broke the games knee caps

AI straight line speed is a big problem. I've already lost positions right on the finish line twice which is very frustrating. More so than their aggressiveness.

Imo, I’ve been very disappointed with the release of this game. The fact that I’m losing nearly 4 tenths down a straight in Miami is rediculous, and I still stand by f1 2020 being my favourite in the franchise

i just did a race where it was raining, we started on inters, halfway through the race, the ground was so slippery i almost pitted to wets, EVERYBODY ELSE pitted and got softs, and they were smoking me in almost every corner, and i'm playing on 70 difficulty. i'm actually glad i'm not the only person that thinks this game is a shit show right now.
the ground wasnt slipy at all then , you got confused and went on inters when the track was able to hold softs , ive had that aswel and its weird cuz the enrgineer was prompting me for full wests when it wasnt raining but the track was just shiny , i went for softs and i had amazing grip
@@__MaReX__ i have the race saved, the ground was literally wet. water would go up into your screen as if it was really wet. and my inters would have burned up. i did over 15 laps on them both times i pitted, and the track was wet the entire time.
start a race and set the weather to raining, and go out onto wets, that is how my game was, i was slipping everywhere and they were on softs not slipping up until the very last lap of the race.
My team keeps giving me the slowest tires while everyone else has faster tires, even if there are only 8 laps left

I've noticed that, above 70-ish difficulty, some practice programs become impossible. I had my difficulty at 85 (which I used for '21, '20 and '19), and was driving an Alpine at Bahrain. The tyre conservation program wanted me to drive .3 behind Leclerc's WORLD RECORD QUALI LAP. ON MEDIUMS. IN AN ALPINE. WHILE CONSERVING TYRES.
Bro same. Qualifying sims at Baku especially is IMPOSSIBLE. I lost a lot of times at the long fucking straight when i already have 6-10 downforce setup. I had to sacrifice slow speed corners so that I can compete with AIs' straight line speed but it didnt change anything.
I'm getting too old to buy broken games out of the gate. I don't buy anything when it releases anymore unless I've got a few friends that plan to play it with me. The state of the industry means you're as much an unpaid intern beta tester as you are a consumer. I try to limit the former when I can, because I didn't agree to be a tester. I have '21 and don't really feel the need to buy '22, probably won't buy '23 either. I don't need annual releases in the sports world anymore.
And honestly, if EA retains the licensing, this will be the norm for each new release. That's what EA does. They get their grubby green fingers on everything and it just goes to shit. They've been doing it for decades.

It's very impressive that for a yearly release, they managed to make a lower quality product then the previous entry. Bugs they fixed in 21 reappeared in 22, and some bugs from 2018 are still present after 5 concurrent games. When there is an exclusive licence and you have no competition, it doesn't incentivise and stagnates the game development. People are fed up with a lack of detail, features and overall passion from codemasters. I personally want more companies to have access to the license like with F1 manager, so people can vote with their wallets over a superior quality product. They've held the license for 13 years now, and compared to their early days codies have become complacent with the franchise.
It doesn't help that EA is notorious for this kind of behavior. Both their Fifa and Madden games have the same problems you've described. They'll roll out fixes slowly with the excuse of "we're making the next one." What a waste.
@@glxywlf Whilst it is evident EA has begun to have an influence on the title, I hope their influence doesn't spread into other areas of the game like in the FIFA franchise. A lot of the problems at the moment are solely on codies, as a lot of the problems/bugs have been inherited from the pre-EA era. My concern as you have described is the acquisition from EA means this lack of polish and refinement could very easily become the norm. F1 is growing in popularity and the games are too in correlation to that. I just hope liberty know they could make more money and generate a better image out of a developer who's willing to make a better and more refined product, rather than settling for the safe/easy copy and paste cash flow that codemasters could very well create and are beginning to settle into from doing minimal development, akin to the FIFA franchise. I have a feeling EA has this as their end goal, to gain a monopoly on the sports franchise and generate regular income from minimal investment.

@@lytergy0 fair I think my team has been great and the “story mode” while not being anywhere close to the fifa style story mode quality was a welcome addition. I’m definitely concerned about the direction being taken and the whole idea of the f1 22 manager game just upsets me as we could have just had them together as one game. I really hope bigger changes start to happen with the f1 games and that updates and patches come quicker. Also codemasters have had more than enough time to work on multiplayer and they still can’t seem to make any progress.

To be fair australia and abu dhabi have been laser scanned. Doing this is basically the same as making a whole new track. So with abu dhabi, australia and miami weve basically had 3 new tracks. Plus the dlc tracks coming we cant really expect them to laser scan tracks with no changes. However spa and austria are soooo bad

When I heard about this game was coming out, I was hyped. But when I pre-ordered the game and played it, it was a huge letdown. A.I was extremely overpowered. Physics especially crashed by idiot drivers are broken. F1 Life is a complete ripoff of TDU2 My TDU Life where you can purchase furniture, clothes, floor customization, etc.

F1 Life is nothing like TDU2, in TDU2 you actually bought houses from an estate agent and could fully walk around them and explore them. the AI being broken is really the only thing im sick of. i was consistently able to compete with the AI on 90 pre latest patch, but since that dropped ive been struggling with them after dropping the difficulty down to 80. and even then, sometimes they just breeze past me on the straights like im driving a renault clio
Remember this is a yearly release game and comparing this to No Man Sky is not the right idea, you should compare it to other yearly releases like Fifa or NBA to name a few, and Codemaster always had the nasty Habit of not fixing bugs for years so I dont expect them to change now especially because they have been acquired by EA, the masters of doing the minimum work on any of their yearly products and they also like to add unnecessary microtransactions and will probably spend development time on that instead of fixing the game, I hope I am wrong and EA will make the game actually better.
You're right the AI is waaaaay to overpowered in Hard 60-79 whereas in F1 2020 you can still keep up with them. I can barely keep up with them in Medium AI even. I really should consider buying this in order to get the patch but will keep playing the pirated version until patches are released.

What i love about f1 2021 is the fact that I can basically run 2 setups.
1 with high downforce which apparently I use for most of the ciecuits because its really fast.
1 with low downforce that I pretty much exclusively use on jeddah and monza.
1 setup for me isn't really fun to use because to me I have to guess if the circuit requires the high downforce or the low downforce.
I definitely don't regret skipping this entry. 20 and 21 were pretty damn good (I platinumed both as well) but the awful MyTeam liveries, unstable and laggy online lobbies, shit penalty system and lack of dedicated servers made me go back to GT7 for my sim racing fix.

Breaking Point was mildly fun and I was kind of hoping codies would expand on that while they had the opportunity, but they scrapped that as well.
One of my favorite things in the game was the short tracks and classic cars. I had a lot of fun with those. F2 is also pretty cool, with the caveat being it’s a single car replicated multiple times over.
Really, Codies need to get their shit together and start listening to consumers. I’ve purchased multiple iterations of the game now and while it’s changed rather drastically in the last couple years, there are fundamental flaws that have gone ignored for years.
Out dated tracks, shameless micro transactions, stupid features no one wants, while commanding a premium for it all, are reasons I’m done giving them money. EA does this shit with all of their titles, it’s gross. If I wanted to shop for furniture I’d be playing sims.

6:13 i had a league race that needed to be restarted 3 times before we could actually start because this game being broken, 1st time we couldnt load into the race after quali
2nd we got stuck on formation lap, countdown wouldn't start even after everyone formed up 3rd we tried again with no formation lap and only then we could play, it is so stupud

My friends and I love playing this franchise when it works, but this years is sooooo broken. Still bugs remaining from F1 '21 like AI in quali crawling around in groups and blocking the track, AI being super OP. Even more new bugs. Gonna take a serious overhaul to win back my faith in this game.
For me, the AI straight line speed makes this game unplayable for me. I'm just trying to enjoy career mode, not have a miserable experience playing it. They say they're working on it, when even an amateur at programming would have fixed this by now

Although I posted a couple of F1 2021 videos in my channel, one of them has almost a million views, I am proud to say that I dodged a bullet with this game and not ending up getting it.

I honestly want to love the game, I really do and some features are cool like more interactive starts and pitstops but the AI are just too good, like I say this as someone who since the previous game ( which still had this problem in all honesty but it was more limited to certain tracks ) was able to run 110 and be competitive through career mode. Last year's game made it impossible at tracks like Silverstone or Netherlands to be anywhere near the ai and it was infuriating but you could still walk over them in Singapore or tracks like that. This game I just can't explain it, the AI are just too good and absolutely annihilate the real life times in what should be similarly equal performance machinery to real life whilst the player is just about able to keep up with them but has to be putting in perfect laps constantly, especially in quali where it's the biggest issue for me. But that also could be me being an awful qualifier. But hey I do enjoy aspects of the game and if the AI can just be balanced better then the rest of the bugs I can happily live with

You didn't mention the patch ruined tire overheating and automatic gearboxes.
Since the patch automatic gearboxes take ages to shift up the final two gears.
I am currently stuck in Silverstone race mode on 100 AI where the AI is 2 seconds / lap faster than me on mediums while I'm on the softs. Those softs also overheat in the first lap. Like completely red.

It’s amazing how quickly EA can fuck up a successful franchise, it really is. It’s never been perfect, but this is really irritating with how long it’s taking to fix the major bugs and how common they are, if not every time you play. Stop releasing games in their beta state and using us to do the quality assurance stage for you!

I’m a first time player and then there is a lot to discover and learn. After about 50 hours I’m slowly getting there. True, I had to lower the AI considerably to even be able finish. With watching several Yt videos I’m now starting to get better at the starts and also accelerating out of the corners without a pancake spin.
The only thing I found frustrating is that at least 1 time per game session I have a crash to desktop. I’m also learning to use the Fanatec load cell break peddle as this is completely different then I was used to with TM
it's a CodeMaaters F1 game...only getting a single crash-to-desktop per session is impressive! I was getting 3-7 per session back in 2019-2021.
Yea shit wheels and pedals are no good for for assist free racing fact I got thrust master t300 it's an good wheel but it's just not quality enough in the pedal's to be able to handel the the sensitivity even if you fuck about with the calibrations
Can we have everything that was right in f1 2021, which was basically 95% of the game and just update the drivers and car models? If EA just took the 2021 game, forget the BS of drifting and safety cars, only updated the team rosters/car livery and models, it would be a huge success. Instead, they started the BS pay to play micro currency which f1 was never really about and honestly made this game crap. Codemasters before being bought out were doing an excellent job, now... not so much.
I don't care about how e-sport drivers or youtubers react to the new game, they should be pushed more to changes like in this game. The only thing I don't like is that the tracks haven't been updated to the detail, while they show it in the trailer that they have done that. Now, I also think they could've done more with the damage models, supercars and old cars, which were removed for some reason. EA missed a huge opportunity and I was lucky to get the champions edition for an even lower prize than the standard edition.
I went back to F1 2021. I’m done with F1 22 for now.
My main issues: The Ai are suddenly 3 seconds faster around Hungaroring (80 ai are only 3 tenths off the fastest time in fp2)
The AI often go in far too hot into corners (mostly Baku)
The AI are far too risky in divebombs and steal your lines
Myteam moves make less sense than last year somehow
focus for myteam Ai is worthless
The handling resembles that of a yak with rabies.
The AI in this Game is so freaking broken that the Ferrari behind me (And sadley this is no Joke) had zero Problems to keep up with me....With a missing front wing after a Crash. Really just try it yourself. Let the Car behind you come closer (What they already doing anyways) and hit the breaks so they lose there front wing, then try to create Distance, you can't. The AI dosen't even react at all that the Front Wing is gone. They keep up to drive to the curves like it is nothing.

It’s so annoying how I have to change my ai difficulty every race because of there speed Down the straights. Tracks like Baku and monza or any track dominated by straight line speed are impossible on the normal difficulty I play (90) I find my self having to put the difficulty down to 75 just to stay competitive and it’s still really hard. I was racing in Bahrain coming out of the weird kinda hairpin I had drs and overtake on and verstappen was still gaining time on me (I was in a redbull as well) and now with the new handling Japan first sector and silverstone middle second I just go wide on almost every corner. I’ve also had to go from using no traction control at all to using medium. Call it a skill issue all you want but the game is just bad. I’m thinking about re-installing f1 2021 as the game is so much better than this abomination EA gave us. I knew as soon as they bought out codemasters they were going to ruin the game f1 2016-f1 2021 are the best f1 games. And the last topic I want to talk about is classic cars. Idk why they took them out. They gave us no explanation one why they did it and it annoys me because classic cars used to be one of my favourite parts in the f1 games and now we have supercars which are so shaky to drive. They move all over that place like it’s a sim. I’m playing f1 not asseto corsa which as a casual f1 games player I would rather play because ever though its hard to drive and it’s more realistic to actually racing its still better than whatever this game is.
why they took out claasic cars? licencing costs money. the more cars included, the more money they'd have to spend. this is EA, they have...well...EA MONEY, yet they're EA so they won't spend it.

in f1 2021 i was usually playing on 105 ai difficulty, on f1 22 im playing on 72!!! and sometimes having problems with catching on to AIs...
Patch 1.06 has ruined the game for me. I can’t play it anymore. No matter what I do in setups I feel like I’m driving on ice! The AI… don’t even talk about the ai, they might as well just have Japanese flags on and scream kamikaze as they’re trying to overtake/defend

After the update I was just done whit this game. The AI this year is just stupid,a lot of bugs, the AI is overpowered. I was so disappointed, because I spent 70 euro to the game and I just came back to assetto corsa, because this game is unplayable for me. This is the last F1 game for me
I have yet to see a decent F1 official game for 12 years but i haven't see anything. It's always the same shit typical broken cashgrab garbage made by Codemaster and now it gotten even worse since EA own Codemaster. What a very frustrating life to be F1 fans, there is no decent F1 game.

F1 life is sims garbage, they should have focused on providing a proper livery editor on par with Gran Turismo and Forza. As for online, it's a mess with the ridiculous penalty system. 3 second penalty for putting one wheel over the line on some tracks, also if someone collides with you the game will hand you the warning or penalty and not the nonce that crashed into you. Then there's the wait/loading times to get into a race, it takes on average five minutes to get a race started due to the ridiculously slow lobby system.
The graphics are not "next gen". It litteraly looks the same as the game before except cars and tracks. The physics are not realistic. Way too much arcade style gameplay. Could've been much more but wasn't made into it...
Also the VR mode sucks and doesnt work at all for me spent £500 and the VR just for this game and im getting 1 frame per 20 seconds in the pitlane ( in the garage ) just a disappointing game. i wont be pre ordering the next game.

The worst bug I am experiencing that Jarno Opmeer is experiencing is the game just all of a sudden crashing out of nowhere, and if I was recording at the same time, it would crash that too!
I've tried many things including re-installing the entire game, moving it from my SSD to my HDD and made sure everything was up-to-date but nothing worked so EA/Codemasters need to fix this as it is actually making me not want to play this year's game as what's the point if it just keeps crashing?

2 Things that I am getting frustrated with in F1 22
1) AI Straight Line Speed: It’s INSANE, it’s as if the AI have all time DRS on the Straights, and in instances where the Player has DRS and the AI doesn’t, the AI Car still pulls away with crazy speed, but if it’s the other way around, AI has DRS and the Player doesn’t, the Player gets blown by as if they’re standing still.
2) Just touching another Car causes the Player Car to Spin Out: I don’t go around causing a Demolition Derby, but every single time my car comes in contact with another car, I go spinning off the track, no matter how hard or soft the contact is, and once again, with any contact the AI cars stay GLUED to their Line, while the player still spins.
Another thing, on almost all other F1 Games I play on a AI Difficulty of 80, and I still Dominate, I’ve dropped all the way to 60 in F1 22, and I’m still being losing

I find controlling cars under the same circumstances, with the same wheel completely impossible. The cars spin soooooo easy and I dont get why.
You forgot the fact Steam players can't play with Origin players because it's also crossplay. I'm glad you mentioned that the new handling model ruined the game. They took a step back with it.

My ai level from 21 to 22 is insane I played 21 on 90 ai and I was competing for wins and in 22 I've gone all the way down to 55 ai and they still out qualifying me by a second
Same, went from 80-85 in 2020, to 63 in 2022
WHen I started my team in 2022 I made the AI as strong as in 21 which I played later. And I understand that at first my car is bad ok, but after some upgrades I lapped not +3s every round it was +1s after 8 races. The +3/1 means I was 3 to 1s slower than the slowest car which was very weird for me and made me think no matter how good you are if you play the same difficulty until the end of that race year maybe you will be 18th.
please ea bring not only nascar to the switch but please bring indy car racing to the switch I mean I love nascar finnaly being able to be on the switch and it being good enough to get a new game that may not be based on previous nascar games but I always wanted to play indy on my switch and if that happens I'll be over the moon
An official Indycar game is set to release next year. It could come to the switch when we get more info
The worst part about this whole ordeal, I never played F1 2021 because i literally couldn’t, it would glitch constantly and crash, lobbies were terrible and they released tracks later on and not at launch. With F1 2022, I have had 0 glitches, like literally none. No crashes, no lag, or anything.
Same here. Especially frustrating on the Steam Deck since it would crash every time without fail in rain races. With F1 22 i have experienced nothing bad, some sound stuttering at times when coming out of sleep mode but it's negligible. Enjoying myself very much with it.
can someone please explain why on grand prix mode, I can take an alpine from last to top 5 in a 25% race on 110AI but on career mode/my team I struggle to get out of q2 in the fastest car on 95AI??

Same here mate. I was a full minute behind my team mate in Hungary last night on 65ai and lapped up to P15. Then the next practice session in Belgium I am P7 being over a full second quicker than my team mate and most of the backmarkers. I have no idea how to set the right ai level for each track it is absolutely awful.
