I really love the gymnastics minute videos, such a shame they stopped uploading :/ for anybody else who misses their regular updates, I have recently started this new channel, covering a range of gymnastics and trampoline skills and techniques, new uploads fortnightly. Please take a look if you think you might be interested!
okay, I can front flip fine, back tuck, back handspring all fine. But I have so much trouble when it comes to a twist. even just a simple half twist from the tramp onto a mat. any tips to help with twisting?
woody280486 I do trampolining and gymnastics and when I was first learning my barani (in trampolining) a barani is a front flip with a half twist I got my coach to spot me by actually twisting me so I could get used to it. Now I can do it.
HBR Gymnast no it isn't. A barani and a front half are the same skill. It's just called differently in gymnastics and tramp and Tumbling. Also a round of with no hands is an Ariel round off. In a barani/front half you have to show the flip to vertical or almost vertical and then twist.
No, this isn't a barani. The coach clearly states this is an early 1/2 twisting front somersault. A barani is a front somersault with a late 1/2 twist. Also in a barani the arms come down for landing, not up.

aren't you supposed to twist after you flip.. thats what my coach tells me.
I can do a front flip on trampoline but not on the ground
