Chris: sadly, TH-cam crushed the detail to the point that I could not see the differences at all from just past 9:30 in the video on. That is not something I could ever remember how to do on my own. I have never heard that word 'halation' so I give you all credit for even knowing it. It is things like this that make you a genius. Always glad to see your work.
Thanks Danny for the comment, and that is the challenge with TH-cam and subtle effects. I will say that if you have an image with bright highlights, you can go through the steps and you will see the difference in your image. Halation is one of those things that certain film would produce, and it added a character to the image. Now it is mostly used in movies to add a halo around bright parts to draw interest for the viewer.
@@FreeWillPhotos TH-cam and facebook both compress videos so much, they remove small details totally. It was so in this video. I'm still glad you try all things in the software as it does show the usefulness and depth of On1. I'm looking forward to getting 2025 in a couple of days.
Wow, thank you for your support and leaving a comment on this video. I hope to see more from you in future videos, and you can also email me if you have a very specific question you would like to ask.
Thanks for the clear and relaxed style of your tutorials. Particularly remarkable this time: the colours of your shirt are beautifully matching the dominating colours in the example photo. World class!
Very interesting again Chris. I would never have thought about using the blus effect like this. About the copy/paste of the blur not working, I think it’s some kind of bug as I experience it as well in certain unclear situations.
I am enjoying your videos. These ideas are very creative too.
Thank you, that is part of what I look to do, which is inspire people and keep creating interesting things

Thank you! I appreciate your comment and I hope to stay laidback in my approach of teaching
A great video!
Thank you!
An interesting effect
This is a fun one.

Yea hopefully that gets fixed in the new version of ON1. I enjoy playing around with things and I need the tools to work as expected.
