Same. I'll probably never play this game myself but I've watched literally every IOK video he's ever posted. This guy is hands-down the best solo Rust content creator on the planet (sorry AloneInTokyo, you're definitely next in line but nothing beats IOK's dedication and storytelling capability).
I don’t think it’s really possible to fully protect your Sam sites & still have them be fully operational & ready to defend. But yeah 100% the roofs facing outwards would have made it extremely hard to take out his Sam’s without a heli of some kind. Or if you can find any angle to see the Sam from the ground it can be taken out
If you see this you should put roofs around the top of your sky base to kind of shield your sam sites and turrets and if you ever make a base like this again take this as a suggestion
@@692-runs-cord the MLRS will not be stopped then as the roof will obstruct the sam sites, keep in mind its so high up so the mlrs isnt really coming up from the top. So the better way would be to make roof shielded small height platforms from the ground level, separated from the sky base, and towards the direction facing the side mlrs can come from.
Wow man these clans in rust are truly some straight up cowards. They’ll cry their eyes out to no end about getting offlined but when you bring it to their front door at their raid base and their man base what do they do?? Start throwing C4 at their own walls and de-spawning all their loot. That’s wild man, GGs to you IOK this was a really awesome video

Wonderful video. Were your sam sites set to defender mode only? If they were shooting down minis, that is 100% why they kept getting broken. Bases with MLRS that shoot minis are the first bases to go.

Really only place for sam site is behind cover, they need to be at sufficient height too relative to everything around you so people can't target them. It's going to make placing them more difficult, but if you don't they are pretty much useless. Basically you need slanted walls on the roof, and your roof can't have towers or stuff like wind turbine since those get in way. Even big compound is useless since you can just use rifles. So, you probably need to build separate towers for wind turbines.

In the future use roof sides on the top of your base facing/flaring outward to prevent people from destroying your SAM sites.

Ran into the same problem with the elevator. Had to separate them with a floor and have a hatch to get up to it.
