I realized after posting photos of this finished product that TONS of people were asking how I made the canes for the lights! Unfortunately I had made these ahead of time so I don’t have video, but I’ll be making some more this week so I’ll make sure to record it! Thanks for watching!

They are made from soap dough, from Sorcery Soap, and then are molded into shape using an extruder and extruder disks, which I purchased from I Dream In Soap!

Gorgeous soaps! Quick question for you, do you prefer WH’s extra tall and skinny mold over Nurture’s tall and skinny mold? Or do you tend to use them interchangeably? I’m still torn on which to purchase and would love your input. Thanks!

So, I was literally just having this conversation with my sister earlier this week. Nurture molds got me started, and for a long time their Tall Skinny is the only mold I would use. They’re well made, the dimensions are great, and they CPOP well. Then..... I bought a WSH mold! I love the silicone in the WSH mold, and they come with lovely wooden lids and are a little bit more affordably priced (I have the Extra Tall Skinny from them). For me, it’s a hard call. I do somewhat prefer the size of the Nurture mold which is 2.5 x 4.5 over the WSH mold which is 2.25 x 4. The WSH mold makes slightly smaller bars overall (1/4 inch narrower and 1/2 inch shorter) but the mold itself is longer so I usually get 13 out of a loaf instead of 11 from by Nurture. If you make bars with tall frosted or sculpted tops, you may prefer the WSH mold so your bars aren’t wildly tall. I do prefer it a little bit as it makes bars that fit into my packaging a bit better.
I think if you are newer to CP soap making I would recommend WSHs mold as the silicone is SO so much easier to unmold, just know that because it is much softer those molds require a bit more careful care and handling than Nurture’s do. They’re both lovely, you won’t really go wrong either way.

@@CapricaSoapery ahhh thank you so much! You literally just solved my dilemma and touched all the points that I was concerned about. I just switched about 2 months ago from the 4” Nurture silicone mold (yielded 3-4 1” bars) to a silicone mini Tall and skinny (which yields about 6- 2”x 3” tall (without soap frosting) or 2” x 4-4.5” (with soap frosting) bars of soap. This was a total game changer for me because I love everything about tall and skinny bars of soap, that said I wanted to be able to transition into a larger mold (my permanent mold) without too much noticeable difference between my mini T&S and new molds. WSH extra tall and skinny will be perfect, as it will still allow me to use my smaller mold for more intricate and thus limited edition bars interchangeably. Oddly enough, there are not a lot of soap makers who use WSH extra T&S molds yet lol. So thank you so much for your input and videos showcasing this mold and creating such beautiful soaps! It will definitely be my next big purchase. Lastly, can you recommend a company for boxes that have fit your bars well? Thanks again, I appreciate your time! 💖

@@BTalise87 So, I don’t frost or do much in the way of tops for my soap, so I use boxes that don’t give a ton of wiggle room. If you turned the bars on their side you would be able to accommodate them if they are taller - I get my boxes from PackingSupplies.com because their customer service is great. You can find them with cheaper boxes or cheaper shipping in other places, but when you add up price+shipping they are reliably the cheapest and they often have sales. I get the 6 1/2 x 4 7/8 x 3 3/4 White Corrugated and 4 3/8 x 4 3/8 x 3 1/2 White Corrugated boxes from them -
