and runs a Tabla teaching school.
My mother told me once she saw him play in Lucknow India all night long with a female classical kathak dancer and he was blessed in the end by her for his success in life.

Indian classical music is like that. Ragas are actually notes like Do Re Me ... but not rigid and these artists never practice a song. They must know all Ragas and based on that they play

Technically, this wasn't a Jugalbandi. Jugalbandi is more like when instruments imitate each other's phrases. This was a typical composition (often called a "brandish"), where Tabla is only accompanying Santoor, and not repeating it's phrases (or vice versa).
See, that's the thing about Indian Classical music. Every piece is unique. Almost the entire thing is created on stage.

Thats called Jugalbandi.... they are living legends... they have been performing since they were kids... this is the kind of music that will cure various diseases... it will release lot of tensions... relaxes your mind... its alcoholic, sorry to use this word but really its mesmerizing... you should visit India, travel to know lots of mysteries around... plan min of 6 months...

My first concert ever for Indian classical music was Ustad Zakhir Hussain and Rahul Sharma, in Minneapolis MN, it was so beautiful, I could not hold back my tears. I left the concert hall a different person that day! Made more determined to start learning Sarangi and I did :)

First understand Indian music RAGAS.... musical instruments.....than become a vloger on Indian Music
Btw! Hope u have learned some Hindi by now... why I sometime take liberty writing in hindi. That was feb ...right? Now this is half way nov. Lot of time gone by. So can u read some hindi or talk some hindi now?.... actually hindi is more simpler than English... On start it might look more complex due to lil larger alphabetical things... but once u get some basic its all easy and same from that point onwards. A alphabet pronunciation is consistent here somewhat like Spanish or Russian I guess. It never changes though it might come at any place in a word.
Just lil addition of matra and half alphabet thing how it might differ from Spanish or Russian... but once u know the simple rules. U don't even have to know it for every alphabet cause they work the same way. Devnagri might look lil awkward to some non indians at start but its very systematic system with very few exceptions that too came because of print media. Some alphabets written lil different there u c...but its not that big an issue. And not a abs perfect system I say but its a good system... quite good system actually.
The difference between hindi and English is... once u know the hindi alphabets and some basic common rules....u can easily read and write any text or thing without fault In english even if u speaking English for many years u can't be sure if this new word is pronounced like this or that way sometimes. Cause same combination of alphabets have different pronunciation many times in many cases.
See the reason behind why u or most English ppls new to hindi mosty mispronounce a hindi word written in English ..Roman Hindi I mean Hinglish. 🙂. I mean not mispronounce but not the way we actually pronounce it here. Cause a Indian already knows that hindi word so he adjust to those roman hindi alphabets to correctly pronounce it. But u english ppls will obviously be pronouncing it like what's most common use of that combo at your place. That's natural.... right?
But tell u what if we write any language in hindi like we use to write hindi in English (roman hindi) ... a hindi novice who just know hindi alphabets and its pronunciation will exactly and accurately pronounce that language text back.. whether russian english spanish whatever though comes at the cost of lil extra baggage (i.e larger alphabets set). But then Hindi mein aapka english text likh do yah russian.... Aur padwa do usey yahan ke 2nd class ke child see ...woh exactly pad dega oh English yah russian text back in the original form... except some finer slang sometimes. Janta kuch nahin hoga woh ki kya pad raha. :)
So the bottom line is... Miss Indi if u wanna read or pronounce a hindi text u must do it in hindi alphabets first. In English alphabets, u will always go wrong and will wrong tune yourself. .
