Hi, thanks for the interest. I edited in after effects mainly because I'm more familiar with it than premier, and because its's easier to add effects to each shot. I used Warp Stabilizer and Optics Compensation (to correct fish eye) a lot. Also the Shadow/Highlight effect in AE really takes advantage of the dynamic range in ProTune mode. I rendered the edit at 1080p high quality, then imported it again into a 3K comp, upscaled, and rendered again with H264. yeah TH-cam compression sucks...
hey thanks! I didn't have a strong reason for the change, besides that the NTM motors seemed a little nicer at the time and my dt750s were pretty beat up. The NTM are fine, but their bearings and general quality control aren't great. I wish I chose sunnysky or tiger motor 800kv instead.
You know, there's a place on the RCExplorer forum where you can post your FPV videos, it would be cool if you put yours there, it's better than many of the others I saw on there. I'd say this is almost as good fpv quality as David Windestal's videos, it has a bunch of beautiful swoops.
thanks! I just have a 1.3ghz receiver with a circular polarized antenna connected to a 10" monitor. Both are on a cheap tripod. I'm still using spektrum 2.4ghz control but would like to upgrade to ezUHF soon.
Really nice video. Some risky flying over buildings, I like it. My videos have been getting hammered by youtube compression and was wondering if you could go into a bit more detail about your video settings. How did you upscale to 3k? What optics and color settings did you change? Did you edit completely in aftereffects or did you use premiere pro? Thanks.
Very cool video! In the notes you put that you switched from the DT750s to the NTM 800kv motors. What was your reason for that? Have you had good luck with them?
I did a range test out to .8 miles and couldn't seem to affect my rc signal by turning off and on my video tx. I think my main limitation is just the penetration power of 2.4. Still like to get a low pass filter for peace of mind though
yeah it just hovers at higher throttle. And the flight characteristics seem a bit more unpredictable with the 3700. Haven't tried 3s; with my 9 inch props ry it would probably be very sluggish.
I haven't been approached by them yet. Don't even know if they have seen me. I try to fly when the campus is pretty empty like early morning or weekends. as long as the field isn't being used for anything else I don't think they'd kick you off but i cant be certain
have the campus police been cool about your buzzing the area? i always look at the wide open playing fields at ucsd and wonder if I'd get rejected for pitching a glider around.
Fantastic! Great stability and no vibration! Way to go Andrew!
This was just beautiful. One of the best FPV journeys.
Awesome flying man
Thanks! With a 3700mah about 13 minutes. I've had some troubles with range. Farthest I've gone is about 1/4 mile and even that didn't end well.

Nice video, good music.

after a little wear and tear, probably pretty similar. NTM 800kv might be a little better just because they're thinner and taller.
do you have a filter on your video transmitter to keep the harmonics down? If your using 2.4 Gig for your RC control you need that. Cool flying .

I'd like to :) Hopefully the tricopter could handle the extra weight.

Awesome video. What does your ground station look like?

4:10 cool :-)

also 4S. Actually I've decided its a bit to heavy for this airframe.
what your flight time? i really like your tricopter also what kind of range you getting
would u say its a bit sluggish with the 3700mah compared to 3000mah? have u tried a 3s battery with this setup?
how were the vibrations comparing the dt750 and the ntm 800kv?
I know what I'm getting into with this years Taxes!!! until then could you recommend a budget Tri good for a beginner?
i made mine for about 300 dollars
is the 3700mah battery is also 4s or is it 3s?
New sub :)
You should get a gimbal :P
+1
WTF! thiers a 1440p!!!?
and 4k! what!?
That's some irresponsible flying over buildings and roads
