No, Jin Hu is younger than Qi Zai. They are living in different zoos. But I wonder, is Qi Zai already matching with female panda in Qinling Zoo? I hope Qi Zai has descendants of brown pandas. Stay healthy Qi Zai 😍😘🥰
@@annalove8818 Jin Hu is only younger by one year, so its not an issue when it comes to being romantic “rivals.” You have to know the inside story/joke as to why they are/were considered “rivals.” It’s over a female panda, Yong Yong, and it was started by Jin Hu’s former keeper, San Sui. It’s actually quite hilarious and because of it, Qi Zai became famously known as Jin Hu’s romantic rival. And BTW, both male and female pandas are matched up with pandas that are either much older and/or younger to breed, so age is a nonissue in the panda world.
Qi Zai successfully mated with An An, 6, on March 17, 2020, and with Zhu Zhu, 20, on May 30, 2020. So as you can see, age is a nonissue when it comes to how they breed captive pandas. There are many, many pandas with extremely big age gaps that have produced offspring together. Zhu Zhu did give birth to a male cub on October 11, 2020, so I’m waiting for them to confirm paternity with DNA testing to see if Qi Zai is finally a father. Zhu Zhu also mated with Er Lang, so I’m hoping her cub, Qin Hua, is sired by Qi Zai. 🙂
@@annalove8818 also, brown pandas don’t necessarily produce brown cubs. A female, Dan Dan, herself a brown panda, gave birth to a black-and-white male cub, Qin Qin, on August 31, 1989, after mating with Wan Wan. Sadly, Qin Qin died without producing any offspring on November 22, 2006.
Hahaha, that’s right, Qi Zai is known to be a one-time(or forever!) romantic rival of Jin Hu because of Yong Yong, started by Jin Hu’s former keeper, San Sui! 😂😂 San Sui had picked out Yong Yong to be Jin Hu’s “girlfriend,” but Qi Zai was later “accused” of “stealing” Yong Yong from Jin Hu, after San Sui got wind that over in Qinling they were going to pair up Qi Zai and Yong Yong for breeding. From then on, Qi Zai’s become known as Jin Hu’s romantic rival, “Xi Men Qi Zai.” 😂🤣
@@annalove8818 Qi Zai’s born in 2009 and Jin Hu 2010. Being in different zoos has no bearing on the two having had a “love rivalry.” 🙂

Thanks for this video; at least now we know that Qi Zai was truly abandoned since the patrol team themselves found him and waited three days for his mother who never returned. Indeed the Qinling mountains is home to the giant brown pandas. Great work giant panda researchers.

They have started doing research about brown panda families. ...They rescued 7th boy “007 “ many years ago when he was a cub, he was abandoned by his mother. ..etc....I think This is a great video to let us learn more about pandas
This part’s not in the video, but a female brown panda, named Dan Dan(“dan” means single in Chinese), was the first brown panda to be seen in the wild, on March 28, 1985, at the river of Foping County, Shaanxi Province. She was very sickly and subsequently rescued by the villagers and professor Pan Wenshi and his students, who were tracking giant pandas in the Qinling mountains. She was eventually nursed back to health and settled in Xi'an Zoo. She mated with Wan Wan, a regular black-and-white male panda and gave birth to a regular-colored male panda, Qin Qin, on August 31, 1989. Sadly, Qin Qin died on November 22, 2006 without producing any offspring. Dan Dan, named by professor Pan, died herself on September 7, 2000 of skin cancer. Dan Dan & Wan Wan mated in April of 1986 and twins were born on September 13, 1986. However, the twins didn’t survive.
Scientists theorize that the brown color might be a result of a genetic mutation - a double recessive gene, possibly caused by some environmental and/or geographic factors. But just a theory by scientists, who don’t really know why their fur is brown.
@@CrystallyLavender thanks i gather there was some genetic work done which suggests that brown 🐼 were isolated from normal group by a geographical feature.. I guess if they are a sub species it is even more important.

不是白化也不是唐氐症,就只是秦嶺特有的品種,野外也有發現幾隻,跟貓有白有黑有花有黃一樣,只是純白的很少而己,還扯到唐氐症,天啊
