Steady killing it! Your work is hands down some of the best out there. Got my fiber laser 2 weeks ago and your tutorials have helped me tremendously. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
What settings do you use? I’m not sure why but the design and everything is coming out good but it’s showing up brown in some areas, I think I’m too low settings and it’s making too many passes causing the discoloration
Love your work and have bought some template packs to try out (will def buy more in the future). Can you provide any guidance in terms of the hatch settings (and others) you use to get that first cleanup layer done? I know I’ll have to dial in settings for my specific laser but if you can help with a starting point that gets me on the ballpark it would be greatly appreciated. Do hatch and other settings then change based on the design you’re laying down (like if it’s more complex with fine details versus something with less fine lines)?
@@zevfima1027 for polymers I try to keep it the same but minor changes do happen depending on how it looks. Best way to go about getting your laser dialed in and not ruining a bunch of firearms is to pick up some chopped frames. This is where I got mine I practiced on. Thank you, will definitely grab some of those and try splitting each side into parts to maximize the space. I have a feeling my hatch lines are way to close (was trying 0.025 but now realizing something closer to 0.08 or even 0.1 may make more sense as I’m realizing the close proximity means the material probably gets hotter than intended and is causing some melting). Thanks again for the vids and tips!
Yo man. Working on my own settings. Out of curiosity, @ about 45 seconds in you're putting down that initial edge to edge pass. What color is that coming out? Looks like a grey but not sure if it's the camera/lighting. I'm getting the same clean layer but mine is more of a super deep brown bordering on black. But I'm also practicing on P80's which is a different material.

how difficult is it to program the laser to do whatever pattern you want?

What type or laser printer do you recommend?

Do you also use the laser to take off the original stippling on the grip? Or do you sand it down by hand?
2" air sander thing
Wait so you also prep the pistol grip by wearing it down with a laser? Or do you also use rotary tool prior?
Both
Notice the notch at the top on the left side is much lower on the right side, completely covering rhe indentation on the left but not the right

Do you have to sand down the sides before you get started or does the fiber remove the factory stippling too?
i do sand down the factory stippling yes.
