Exactly Marcel! NIO’s asset is BaaS, its already expensive and ever extending network of stations, and more importantly Users. This is where Benz and NIO can cooperate and add values to their portfolios.
Also the recently emphasized the mandate on replaceable battery by EU, and China enforcing battery inspection are other catalysts woking in favor of NIO.

Very interesting video, and love that you tried to fit it into the swap time. I tend to agree that they may spin out a power company. But I’m not sure the timing for this is right… in any case, NIO is in an incredibly strong position with their swap and charging structure.

Battery swapping is more than energy replacement. It includes amortization of battery costs, battery non-obsolescence, and guarantee of battery health. With the new battery inspection regulations implemented in China the last point become extremely important since it alleviates the fear of an unexpected and expense battery replacement.

At the end of the day BASS is a premium service Mercedes needs this service to keep their customers on the ok and not loose them to Tesla, I have a feeling Mercedes are going to bring a model out that will use Nio’s Battery swapping tech.
BAAS makes NIO cars a little more affordable in the short term. I agree, I think Mercedes could licence the battery swapping tech to stay relevant. I think Mercedes is more likely to loose business to NIO rather than Tesla, I feel does not have the same premium cars or experience.

Would a spinoff of NIO POWER benefit current NIO shareholders directly from the sales of NIO POWER shares? Traditionally I would assume so but just want to confirm that the NIO ADR contains the components of the company that contain the tech of NIO POWER, if that makes sense. Brian

Great channel Marcel! Love your content. I'm curious as to what you think about that and what kind of 'deal' would make the most sense for Nio long term. I'm not convinced any deal makes sense for Nio. It seems to me that Nio is in the stronger position here vis a vis a deal with Mercedes. Maybe i'm being a little naive, but whilst Nio may get future royalties or income from any deal, given they have Mercedes in their sights, wouldn't it be beneficial for Nio to target 100% of any future Mercedes sales rather than a fraction based on any royalties deal they come to? Could Nio put Mercedes out of business? Not likely, but it does seem that by having an arrangement for software or battery swap, they are allowing Mercedes to become a more attractive alternative to buyers who would otherwise potentially buy a Nio. Not everyone would obviously go for a Nio, but many might.

ALL evs should have battery swap ... whether it be a network or something just the dealers have as a upgrade option for the future .. if the technology is there to swap a faulty battery , a recall , a upgrade then why would manufacturers not use it for themselves and the customers , the battery is the most expensive part of the car and any battery that needs swapping due to faults, degradation, or just a better upgrade is currently 23k plus unless a nio

Battery swapping keeps getting more popular in China every day.
Not buying a nio would be like buying a chordless drill where u have to plug tho whole thing in when it dies. While nio you just swap and keep working, what concept!! Lol
So assuming Nio would spin off the BAAS company would all shareholders in USA , HK and Frankfurt get a percentage of shares ? I really cant see this as a good thing yet , as neither Nio car or BASS in not profitable , I do believe their is huge potential down road especially in China if batteries for EV need to be inspected as they do emission testing in some USA states , This would make battery swap the norm as with most EV to replace battery is huge costs in parts and labor , SO while a XXX brand car could be condemned by the City or state , the manufacture may not view battery as warranty able so even if a car is in warranty it may not be covered , This would help Nio drastically and make BASS very profitable when all sign on or do deal selling battery and service and possibly also sell their power trains as well ,
So I believe Nio has huge potential so so sell out when things low priced you would not see much gains now and many shareholders have bought Nio when prices were 40s to 60s and while it had a good run , it has been beat up and shorted heavily , I am still long on Nio and like the technology but with Politics and other factors they have had a rough time till now , hopeful sales rise from here and Margins get better and some other companies sign aboard as nio has done alot with infrastructure in China and they do need some other players involved to be able to move ahead into USA and build same infrastructure in Germany and USA , GO NIO ,,,LOU

Can NIO compete with Solid State Battery tech which allows companies like Toyota that said they will release 900 mile range plus car that would charge under 10 minutes in 2027?
NIO is just releasing their own hybrid solid state battery. Today, not in the future. 150kWh and 1000 km range (on paper). NIO cars can just swap it in and out. Just as every future battery tech that is upcoming. Can Toyota do the same? What if their announcement never materialises? The Chinese do things, instead of just talking.
NIO is already ahead with their hybrid SSD today. What makes you think they won't be well ahead by 2027 when Toyota doesn't even have anything to show for today.

Battery technology will get better... but you don't want that battery fixed and a huge bill if anything goes wrong , you want to be able to swap battery in 3 mins .. whether it be once a week or once a year , or once every 10 years , I will charge from home most but most people I know can't, and I will not buy an ev with a fixed battery just in case of any issues, if you can have the best of both worlds... swap or charge , then why not have both which ever you use and have no worries, also can sell to next owner more easily who may only be able to one or the other
Right the issue of swapping should be one for the business/investors, consumers lose nothing with it, only infinite possibility with it.

I was trying to find out what stocks may be related to Aulton. NIO finance company seem to be a partner.
I think BP (a UK green energy co) may also be a partner, but there seem to be no economic activity wrt battery swapping, so BP's participation could be minor, such as energy storage or electric components?
What do you think?
Will NIO be able to co exist with another bigger battery swap network in China?
Outside of China, eg Europe should now become NIO's focus and priority for battery swap infrastructure.
Then again its all dependent on sales.
