This makes understanding of how flow works so simple. Keep up the good work and thank you so much this saved me hours of testing. It worked first time with no issues.
Great pace to your videos, not lingering on anything for too long. Clear instructions and informative. I have a question, Can you scan through your inbox for specific attachments, say a certain file you get sent each morning to move them to one drive, emails already in your inbox. Thanks in advance
Thank you for your compliments! If you know the name that the file will be when you receive it, you can scan for if the file name matches the one you want to receive, then move on to the next steps of delivering it automatically to your one drive.
@@henryouang Hi Henry, well done. To expand on the above follow-up question, the case may be one needs to only isolate the attachment by file type. This applies when, lets say the email has multiple file types, pdfs, word and one is only interested in the CSV for example. 2. It would be ideal to have a naming convention for the attachments such as time and date stamp. I can imagine depending on velocity; after 100's of attachments it would be a nightmare really. Any thoughts? Thanks
Thank you, Henry, for this wonderful guide. I just tested it, and it worked very well for me. Can you give a guide on how to save attachment from specific email addresses to specific folders. Thank you
Hi. I have a question...In my case the banner and logo of our company are auto-saved in the same folder I created for flows since it is also considered as an attachment. Is there a way that we can set the company logo not to be saved when an email is from a colleague? Is there anyway we can set that?
You can use a "Condition" step where you can say "If the filename is equal to [your logo name], then do not save this file. Otherwise, continue on with saving the file to the onedrive." Let me know if you need additional clarification!
@@henryouang i'll check. also is it possible for a flow to be created if a new video or file is uploaded on a shared drive (maybe synched from computer ) for a notification to be sent to a different email address?

Hey Henry, is there a way to convert a large .xlsx file to a smaller .xlsb format prior to downloading? my files that come in daily are 50mb or greater and it doesn't appear that it will work on those sizes
Is there a way to download all attachments from previous emails, not just "When new email arrives" to save them to OneDrive or sharpoint document library?
This worked for me: I created the flow and my rule was for emails in a specific folder (new folder without emails), then when the flow was working correctly I created a rule in outlook to move all the emails with those charateristics I want to the new folder, and executed the rule for all the emails, outlook moves the emails to the new folder and that's a trigger for the flow to run.
Thank you so so much, BUT i have a question: Can i override the attachment? like i want it to be deleted whenever theres a new attachment with the same title?
Hi SheSpecial 20, I’m just going to copy my comment to Jim beneath here. You can set a different step up to delete the file with the name you want to "overwrite" and then recreate it with the date you received in the email. This is the same function as overwriting!

Hi Henry, question Can I track attachment/files into Excel as well, since excel & my Onedrive folders are Shared folder to production team? 1: Serial no 2: attachment Name 3: Attachment (PDF) contents 4: file Created time (email received time)
Anyone have a resource link to where I can save the attachment to multiple folders? Do the folders have to be created already? I have tried Copy File action, but my flow fails... help please and thanks!
Thank you for the video… The process works but it only copied one attachment in my folder… And it only works for the current date. Is there a way to have the flow grab all emails regardless of date? Can I grab dates going back a week or any time frame? Also the attachments all have the same file name… Will it save the file but just give it an incremental file name? Sorry for the many questions! Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Hi, I do not believe with Microsoft Automate's current functionality you can go back and grab already delivered emails. To have the file name changed every time, be sure to use the "Dynamic Content" marker when indicating the "File Name" in the new file you are creating.
Hi Henry, I often scan hundreds of invoices as PDF files into Outlook at my work, and then I save the attachment onto a hard drive one by one. Some invoices come from the same vendor and differentiate them using the vendor name and invoice number. e.g., Apple 123 and Apple 245. How do I automatically extract attachments from an email and save them onto the hard drive (H:) without using any code? Please help me!!! Thanks,
Hi, you can use a conditional statement and select the "Ends With" option. There you can set it equal to if it ends with .xlsx, continue with the action!

Hi, as of right now to my knowledge, I do not believe shared one drives can be accessed by Microsoft Flow. This is a problem that Microsoft is hopefully working on and will be available soon.
With Microsoft Flow specifically, from my knowledge I do not believe there is a way to do that right now because there needs to be some sort of triggered event for that to happen.

Try using the "Create File" function that is supplied by Sharepoint instead of OneDrive. Go in there and change the destination file to the one that you would like.

I tried to specify one certain e-mail during the customisation of the flow, but it seems that files from different e-mails drop into my One drive "email attachement" folder.
If you create a rule in Outlook to find the exact type of e-mail that you want, you can then have the rule put those e-mails in a different folder and then specify the folder you created at 3:08 instead of just the Inbox
You can specify that in the rules of the flow, you can add rules like elements of the flow. I created a rule in outlook to move all the emails from a sender to a specific folder, and the rule in the flow was to save the attachements from that folder in outlook. That worked perfectly for me and I can modify the rules from outlook without making any change in the flow.
Hi Ethan, late reply, however you can write .csv or .xls if you concatenate the File Name. Also in the "File Content" box add Attachments Content. Attachments Content-Type (include the Dot) Hope this helps!
I do not believe you can currently do this with a template through Microsoft Automate. You can do it with specific people that you receive emails FROM but not you sending it to them. With some manual configuration, you could possibly create a "Manual Flow Trigger" button to do this with some inputs.
