Dekkers vs. Ballantine III: "The Night Of The Thriller" 2/20/1994 (Amsterdam) - this video Dekkers vs. Ballantine II : "The Night Of Truth" 9/20/1992 (Amsterdam) Dekkers vs. Ballantine : "???" 10/08/1989 (Amsterdam) (He is bad ass indeed, there's 2 more of Ballantine with the Diamond Dekkers...all amazing fights!) 🙏🏽
looks like Ramon busted his left hand? sometime in the 4th or possibly 3rd round. In the 5th round not only did he not strike with it practically at all, but he was having trouble even using it to frame or control his opponent. (or some other injury in his left arm) It was a close fight either way, had it 3-2 if scored by the 10 point must rounds for Ballantine, but a couple of those rounds i could see going the way of Dekkers in some minds. Don't know Muay Thai scoring well enough to say for sure, but it did appear that Dekker's won the overall kicking game/aspect of the fight, and kicks are favored over punches in a Muay thai bout. So I don't know if calling it a robbery is appropriate, though if anyone with experience scoring bouts under Muay Thai rules/scoring wants to correct me/disagree please do.
Two warriors!!! They had good fights against eachother. I remember the first one they did on Veronica or something back in the 90`s. THey also showed every year a Martial Arts event were Bas Rutten gave his demonstration and funny act.
BRABANT-Nederland,RIP RAMON ,niet omdat RAMON BRABANDER was,en ik zijn fan. Onafhankelijk gezien heeft ie deze combat gewonnen misschien nipt maar toch!!
Dekkers is a true Legend and this was a bit of a close fight. In this case the judges should have given at least a draw. ballantine was more active and I wonder if they didn´t count Ballantines beautiful throws
Dekkers didn't use left arm from the 3rd round. He fought basically with right arm only. You can tell from this point on he slowed down, but don't forget before that he nocked down Ballantine for the count. I can see many opportunities opened for the left hand but he didn't throw it, must have been hurt.
Dekkers on this fight is very far from its best level, nonexistent in elbows and knees, very weak in feet and fists, great lack of power and precision, for long moments it is lax, see unbearable, its opponent has swung it by Land repeatedly, Dekkers was so soft / to believe that he wanted to let his opponents win, so unbearable, I did not watch until the end, clearly one day without Dekkers for the world champion.
That Ballantine is a badass in his own right. He can definitely hold his head up over that fight. It seems he gave as good as he got.

Yeah I definitely don't remember Ramon being this much bigger than Gilbert
Dekkers was a legend!
What was Ramon pointing at around 16:08 ?
That's what I wanna know. Maybe someone tried to enter the ring?
Fight broke out outside the ring. Happened a lot back then. Lots of underworld people at ringside in those days.
Décision surprenante... mais quel combat !!!! 👏👏👏
3 rounds taken vs 2 rounds taken, the decision made sense! though i guess if it was one more round Ramon would have maybe been k.o.-ed
In the late 80’s 90’s holland was a big nation of muay thaï kaman citacik hoost dekkers ballentine aerts redding wiet .....
I agree with you
Still is .
Still a massive hotbed for Kickboxing. Rico Verhoeven king of Kickboxing... Cikatic was Croatian btw ...
Trots Nederlander 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Respect for both fighters. Top fighters
Ramon is a legend but Gilbert IS a true winner here

Sorry for my ignorance, but could someone tell me why they didn't throw any elbow?

10:05 sounding like a proper street fighter bout 😂
what rules were they using
i also want to know. im pretty sure it is very illegal in traditional muay thai rules to strike more than once after carching a kick.
@@TripleEightss I'm fairly certain that's fine, or atleast nowadays it is. I'll check next time I train.
Uncleeee!!

Not completely boring but still pretty boring fight. Had expected more aggression from Dekkers.

The black fella is awesome as well.
Mejiro vs Chacuriki lol both schools from Amsterdam
Dekker should have stopped kicking above the knee, he would not be so easy to take down.
Dekkers threw a right side thrust kick...
Not thailand
Ramón perdió se la dieron pero gano el otro sin duda.
I would have given a draw.
1st half: Ramon...2nd: Gilbert
Gilbert was beaten in the second round !
K1 not Muay Thai rules RIP
It's called Oriental Muay Thai rules, you didn't saw much clinching because both are not using that much in general.
@@MrChrisgabber kick Thai boxen are not the same
This is muay thaï rules but they are pure Kickboxing fighters
It wasn’t a real fight it was a Muay Thai match
