Found a couple things on my best buddys computer. He didn’t have family to speak of. 2 things. One was a diary of things that happened to him at his job. Seems his boss was a complete shithead to the point where he had talked to former employees and was going to talk to a lawyer about a class action suit against the owner of the company.
The other was a letter to me, thanking him for being a friend for 40-odd years. I didn’t lose it when I found out he died. Or at the wake. Or funeral. But I did reading that. Worst(and best) thing I’ve ever read

This is pretty fascinating to me, because this is going to be a constant occurrence as time goes on with the younger generations; not only with computers, but other devices as well. We document our lives prolifically nowadays with pics and video and with our social media environment everyone basically lives their own 24/7 reality show, and so as people age and eventually die off there's going to be tons of media left behind about who they were and how they lived, in many cases literally from birth to death.

I was the closest person to her, and our last conversation was perfect. My elderly neighbour opposite, (for whom I did Friday cleaning), suddenly phoned me very early on a Friday morning and demanded that I come immediately to dismantle and take away his old computer before starting my work. He had promised me this machine ever since he had obtained a new laptop with enlarging facility to assist with his failing eyesight. He made me promise to destroy the hard-drive if I ever got rid of this computer. Two days later on the following Sunday he hung himself in his garage.
His personal files were still on the computer including a recent file headed "My Darling": the term he always used to address his wife who had severe dementia. I strongly suspected a suicide note but due to my wife being freaked out at this incident and the fact that I was now in possession of some of his property, I destroyed the hard drive in accordance with instructions and scrapped the computer. -Now I will never know.

I got my strange uncle's laptop when he suddenly passed and oh-dear-GOD how I wish I'd never laid eyes on it. He was a hardcore military prepper type, not for kicks but he'd actually live in the woods with no shelter over the entire Winter in below freezing temps just to prove he could. Looking through his things was telling, it looked like 2 people lived there a man & a woman but it was all just his because in secret away from the family he was living as a female and had tons of "sexy shots" on his computer but that wasn't even the shocking parts..
He belonged to a group that was inserting subliminal messages into TH-cam Song Videos with all kinds of sick messages, he had tons of "bad pics" of kids.. the very worst kind. Tons of pics of "Animal Lovers".. yeah.. of the worst kind.. it was downright traumatizing to see the contents of that computer and among it were pictures of MY children everywhere. Thankfully no bad pics of my kids but all those kids on those bad pics were devastating to see and then the animals.. it was sickening. I sobbed like a baby after I found them. Then I called the Law but they didn't care because he was dead and we live in a very small town.
I know this sounds too over the top to be real but it is most definitely real. He also had MY baby picture that he was in multiple Transgender groups telling people that it was a picture of him before his parents forced him into a sex change.. I was shocked at how many people in his groups seemed to believe his crazy made up story. It also had these documents... I don't know where he got them from, I assume the Dark web.. very racist & nasty hardcore stuff anti-gov stuff.
You really just don't ever know someone until you get a peak inside their computer. I still have the computer in storage but the hard drive seems to have fried when I dropped it and even though I erased everything you know it's still in there so I'm too terrified to go get it fixed because of the stuff on it but there are also pics of my kids & deceased family that were destroyed in a basement flood that I can never recover that are also on it so I keep a hold of it hoping one day I can get them off the laptop from hell.
First time I've ever told anyone about this but he's been dead several years now and as bad as he hated me in life and I never knew why.. I feel the same about him in his death... he was a vile monster.

7:30 I understand this one. We all experience 3 deaths in this world. There is the personal death. That is, the death of the body. Then there is the death of the last person who knew and remembered us personally. And finally there is the death of the last person who ever even heard of us in any way.
By "heard of us" I mean, the death of the last person who saw the last record of our existence, perhaps the last person to read our name on our tombstone before the letters become unreadable, or in some last copy of the last remaining official record that we existed before that record is destroyed.
For some, this final death may take a very long time indeed. but for most, a few hundred or at most a few thousand years after their personal death, no trace that they ever existed will remain anywhere on Earth.
I can understand why this person felt compelled to remember this person.

Was waiting for lots of "P", but mostly lost some tears here.
People, if you know someone who at least nice enough to listen to your stories and not use them against you, please talk more.
Or meet someone nearby who seems nice, and is laid back, so you at least either have a friend/lover, or someone you can vent at.
Cuz "swis-side" is the end, makes you never able to return again.
If you know someone living nearby, or who loves you, at least ask if you can vent sometimes, so your heavy load... no, i mean your mental baggage, will be gone for some time, making you able to continue and work to a better life.
I'd listen if i knew you IRL, or if we'd just meet, as i know the feeling, and i had to go through it alone, unable to do so, cuz i had to take care of my dementing father, who has passed August last year.
Now i'm holding myself back, as i've grown stronger from helping him, being able to lock all toxic people out of my life, and working to have a better life. Lonely, but still can have a better time at some point.
Thanks, dad. Thanks for being my inspiration. Thanks for making me mentally stronger.

My uncle died from cancer 2016. 18 days before my birthday. 6 years later, I’m 13 and trying to make trainz a new era work on my auntie’s old school computer. I saw a document called (uncle’s name) program. I checked it out and guess what? It was the f**king funeral program…

I wish I had somthing of my parents, though times back then were different. Not as many videos being made. Me and my sister make sure to take lots of pictures and videos of ourselves and her kids now. They are able to see people clearly on video now so I got a new camera so they could see me. (I live far away.) Stuff like this makes me want to build a hard drive with all the greatest things for them in the future. Pictures, videos, game and film recomendations, wisdom and lessons. I intend to be around for them growing up but you never know what could happen tomorrow.

Here's some cringe I found after buying a used laptop at a pawn shop:
First off, I'm pretty computer illiterate so I take the laptop to a friend's to hack the password. Ok, cool so far. The computer seemed to be cleaned off everything EXCEPT one video!!
It was a Webcam vid of this lady peeing in a (Waterford crystal) glass... began drinking it.... telling her boyfriend... things (I'll leave it at that)... and how she's going to save her other bodily functions for his extra special dinner...
I did eventually find out who the lady was but never who the boyfriend was!! YIPES!!!! I had to bleach my eyes and ears out after that one!!!

    ~ Prayer to Shin'nai ~
    Shin'nai-san's guardians are...
One, snake, two, monkey, three, crow, four, spider.
Five, prepare for the feast when the evening mists arrive.
Six, the badger runs along late with nare as a fix.
Seven, the corrupt yomibito rise to oppose the mountain.
Eight, death of the damned yomibito is the mandate.
Nine, one soul per day now to bind.
Ten, the mists rise away again.
