I've watched your video several times over the past two years. Every time I note for myself new details in the design. Now I finally understood what the second tape and rollers in the middle of the gate opening are for. It's an amazing idea.
I am just a country boy from the plains of Colorado. Watching this video is like watching Vincent van Gogh paint "The Starry Night". His workmanship exceeds craftsmanship and tops at as an artisan ! The tools he used were quality. None of them were extravagant, just good ole every day workin' tools. Wow!
hat off. stunning project. it includes ingegnery, every construction branch and original craftman ship. I'am speechless. You should do enginering over the world. Bravissimo. Greetings from Italy
While watching Part 1 I thought, "This guy is good". ... While watching Part 2 I thought, "This guy is awesome". ... Then, when I saw him make his own springs I thought, "This guy has reached God level". Totally awesome build!!!
I am very pleased, thank you very much! and the next project is already in progress, I will probably release its first part soon, so feel free to subscribe! ;)
There are very few Fab videos that I watch all the way through while this does not exactly apply to me. Thanks for the ideas. And yes I watched part 1.
I just love it when people overengineer the f*#k out of things. Once you add the extra safety mechanisms you apparently have plans for, this will be a true work of art that might end up in some museum a couple of centuries later :)
Yes buddy it’s amazing mind set in this kind of job! Genius! Practical how much would you charge for gate like this? 20,000$ ????and how long it’s taking to make parts? It’s looking amazing but only if you do it for your self and and not counting time for money
Thank you😊 obviously, it took a long time to build this gate, the material for it was much cheaper than buying a factory-made paneled gate that wouldn't even wash into this one. And I do not count the time, because making such structures is my passion anyway 😉
Fantastic thought process, followed by a fantastic build. I suppose it had be be a BESPOKE PIECE OF WORK. It must have cost a few Euros though. Well done that Man !!
after using the translator I'm not sure what you mean with PERSONALIZATION anyway thank you very much and glad you like it. I'm glad that you like my workmanship, the concept of a horizontal door is not my idea, of course they have been used for years, but the structure itself was my idea, and most of all the tensioner system 😉 Thank you😃

Pozdrawiam🙂

I love it ! Well done ! Would like to see wall sign and pavement outside for a professional look, but this door have its place in industrial gold period 👍👍 Cheers 🇲🇫
Unfortunately, I don't have any plans, I didn't have them at all, I built them "from my head", I only drew the details on a piece of paper, analyzing whether everything would work out. I'll be happy to help if you have any questions
Super cool, and the fact that you made everything yourself is awesome. However, I like looking at it on your shop more than I would want it haha. Super involved, many moving bespoke parts, many failure points. If something breaks it could be bad due to the weight of the door. But, I still like it a lot and admire the work and skill
Good stuff!! Nice work. Still hard to figure out what the strap rollers are for. Do they take up the slack in the strap? Or do they make the door middle pill tight to the frame when closed? Thanks
Thank you, in fact, next time I would make it in a different way, not even from aluminum, which is not the cheapest, and from profiles bent c very thin (about 1mm) sheet metal ;)
This door is very heavy. Have you thought about when the power goes out? For example, the workshop is on fire and the electricity is cut off, and you want to save your life and that of others. Is it possible to open the door without the power of the gearbox?
the general answer is - NO, but in such a situation I would just leave through the door 😉 which is on the other side of the workshop, besides there are 5 more windows in it 😁
Hey! An excellent project! I hope there will be a video with a detailed overview of the mechanisms and spare parts? Perhaps there are any drawings or everything was done "by eye"?
Great project, certainly provides with some more insight and ideas for our project for a garage door (unusual one due to sheer size of the opening and it being a listed building)
@@mateuszturek5760 Similar that it'll need a metal frame very similar by depth and composition, but I'll be a large horizontal gate, with narrower second half (width of a door). And a swinging up part for full width on top of it all not attached to either, i.e. swinging parts all attached to walls. The gate opening is 3x3 meters in the old German barn that is part of the house , so we'll need to decorate it from outside to look like a barn door
Thank You 😃 if both of them just broke at the same time, the gate would fall down, but ... one strip is tested for breaking under a load of 7500 kg and there are two ... breaking both at the same time is at least unlikely, and such a strip does not break so much earlier you can see any damage so it can be replaced earlier😉

Terrific build. Can it be opened should you be without electricity for to your shop for an extended period.
currently not, but I was thinking about making a system that would make it possible
Great. Your skill and attention to detail is exceptional. I also like the design concept.
