A flight taking off from southern China had a 145-minute delay because a passenger refused to sit in the upright position when the plane was about to take off. The woman said she had a medical condition so she had to lie across the seats.

Maybe during the takeoff as the pressure increases she can't have that pressure on her spine sitting upright. Just an orthopedist to say if this really exists. Making her sit upright and take the pressure could have damaged her spine forever. Maybe she could just sign a waiver for any harm caused to her if she continued laid down.

If she had told the airline before hand so that they can take measures to ensure she's safe during flight then i dont see the problem. And if they can't accomodate her, she can't board and won't waste people's time. She did this on purpose. So yes, the people where dumb in this case to ask for consideration of her case. They don't think about the possible law suit the company could suffer should she accused them of not informing her of the 'safety rules'.

Other than that, I think the woman is trolling, throwing tantrum or for a chance to sue the airline for compensation. They should just bring a stretcher and roll her out of the plane.
She is not suitable to travel on the plane and may be a danger to other passengers due to her emotional state, and probably another reason she didn't tell the airline because they will not let her on the plane or sold her the ticket to fly.

If the door is not closed, it’s easy to kick him out but still ground staff need to remove his check-in baggage which cost a lot of time. Check how United airlines kicked the Chinese passengers out of cabin in a disgusting way years ago.

If you have a medical condition that requires specific treatment or accommodations onboard a plane, you MUST report it to the airline. It's the same for every airline in every country. It's a liability issue that airlines don't want and if you didn't report your medical issue and disrupt a flight like this, they will kick you off the plane. It's better to kick you off the flight than to have you on it, suffer some type of medical issue, and the airline gets sued for it.

The aviation regulations are set by the Civil Aviation Authority of China (and other countries do the same) that for takeoff and landing, seatbelts must be fastened, tray tables and footrests stowed and seats in the upright position for safety in case of an evacuation. It shouldn't have taken 2.5hrs to deal with an unruly pax! She should have been disembarked after given a warning by the airline and still refused to heed the warning.
