Drummer Johnathan Blake on Kenny Barron

In this interview done during the Jazz Cruise in 2016, drummer Johnathan Blake talks about pianist Kenny Barron with whom he has been performing for many years. Blake was performing on the cruise with Barron's trio and with the Three Cohens.

I saw Kenny Barron at the regatta jazz bar in Cambridge - is it? - so it was cool to hear Johnathan's stories here. I heard Johnathan recently virtually at Small's and am kind of hooked. I appreciate all the creativity and all the sounds he generates, and he looks like such a nice dude too.

Jonathan Blake is a great drummer and a modest person. Just a few have ears big enough as his. It is a pleasure watching him comping for other musicians.
