Same problem. Got a new Internet and TV modem and my 12 year old Ipad won't connect to new WiFi. Two IPhones only 6 years old, no problem. Techie tried everything for over an hour... no go. Took it to the technie "I" store and it connected fine to their store WiFi. But their WiFi system might be a few years old. My conclusion... Apple' planned obsolescence plan to force me to buy a new Ipad. It won't recognize newer modems by design.
