Ooooooh that low contrast is so fascinating!! I think it would be cool to dye some yarn that blue, and then turn it into a sock blank and dye with the yellow. You'd have reverse speckling in a low contrast, but with a lot of variation
Cool to wake up to this video this morning. Ive been working with a commercially dyed yarn that should have been a variegated orange and green, but the bright green had accidently overdyed a large portion of orange, creating a sage green with pops of orange and green. Very pretty, but i know i cant buy more, so im thinking about a possible recreation to use for weaving. This video echoes my thoughts on that. Awesome!
Such a happy color! I would like to see some of the yellow too. Maybe place ties for resist prior to dying with the blue, exhaust the blue, remove the ties to expose undyed yarn, then continue like you did here. Getting blue, green and yellow.
as much as it's weird that there is not much contrast between the two colorsI love the colors that you were able to getc urious what the yarn would look like knitted into something with the blue
I would have put the yarn in a dyepot, heated it up to let the blues bleed out, and then removed it to cool before washing. This has helped in the past.

I'm so glad I did this project!
I think this would have been a great color way to over dye with Navy
This would be stunning overdyed with navy!
I'm wondering what you would have done when the last acid-soak wouldn't have solved it.....? 😅
