@@xxczerxx I also don't agree with him about people quitting their job. Imo people are starting to figure out their worth and they know that these jobs aren't fulfilling, so they're going elsewhere
I appreciate Tim Dillon's down to earth wisdom. I'm all about following your heart and the entrepreneurial spirit, but he's right to speak honestly about the darker side of the sort of achievement culture going on. Live for something greater than yourself, whether that is your loved ones, the joy of others, or an ideal... that's fulfillment in my opinion.
He is speaking about those who were never destined for anything being sold on a dream. Its actually quite cynical if not 100% correct. Look, maybe 1% of people achieve great things, maybe 10%, maybe less. Some people need to be motivated. Some people do not have what it takes. I like the message of Gary Vee etc. I need it in my life. I like to believe other people do too but I guess they dont all need that. It takes someone who has been down the road and back again to express it. Tim Dillon has been through the ringer. Look, the man followed his fucking dreams. He needed that shit. He would have been dead in a bottle if not for comedy. I needed my dreams too. Not everybody needs dreams. But its kind of sad. Idk.
@@ivywoodxrecords It is a dark, cynical picture Tim paints, I agree. My takeaway is that the real contrast is between empty ego gratification versus dedicating yourself to something greater. I think for artists and innovators, their craft truly is transcendent, and their entrepreneurial dedication is not about egotism and fame for it's own sake. (I'm an artist and would put myself in this category. I hope it's not too presumptuous to guess you would put yourself in that category too. Tim certainly falls in this category.) For the majority of people, that transcendent something greater is found in family and friendships, and the culture of clout chasing is a tragically unfulfilling pursuit.
Tim Dillon is a national treasure. His insight and wisdom hits to the core, and he still finds a way to find the comedic relief in these sometimes hard pills to swallow. Glad to see this collaboration.

I feel like people who constantly travel because "they need to break the routine" are so terrified of being present. No matter where you go, there you are.
I think that's why many rich kids travel. They feel bad cos they know they can't necessarily provide the commercial value their ancestors did so they grab a back pack and go to "build wells in 'africa'".
best part is where he points out that happiness and ACTUAL fulfillment comes from loving people outside of yourself. it's about the community you build and contribute to. if you feel like you don't belong, like there's no place where you fit in, that's natural: you're meant to create the place you belong with the people who would build it with you.
Except George Carlin didn't rationalize the killing of two people by a white nationalist as the fault of the victims, whom he demonized without evidence as arsonists. Comedian Tim Dillon, who declared in a new episode of his podcast that he doesn’t have “any love lost” for the victims of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old Trump supporter who allegedly killed two protestors in Kenosha, Wisconsin. “These protestors are anarchists, they want to burn down the city,” he went on, in a characteristically rambling monologue disparaging the Black Lives Matter movement and offering generous sympathy to Rittenhouse, whom he described as the inevitable product of left-wing activism. “When you defund and abolish the police, you will have militias,” he said, skipping right over the fact that the Kenosha police department both exists and is funded. “This is what’s gonna happen. It’s predictable." - Tim Dillon

So with you!!!!!!!!
Tim certainly falls in this category.)
For the majority of people, that transcendent something greater is found in family and friendships, and the culture of clout chasing is a tragically unfulfilling pursuit.
Tim Dillon is a national treasure. His insight and wisdom hits to the core, and he still finds a way to find the comedic relief in these sometimes hard pills to swallow. Glad to see this collaboration.
Damn I needed this one. Tim really was on point with giving perspective of not just following one way that it ain't for people not equipped.

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” ~ John Lennon

tim dillon is a legend
I feel like people who constantly travel because "they need to break the routine" are so terrified of being present. No matter where you go, there you are.
Very true. Your demons come along.
@@redwave96734 correct!
I think that's why many rich kids travel. They feel bad cos they know they can't necessarily provide the commercial value their ancestors did so they grab a back pack and go to "build wells in 'africa'".
Last person I would've expected on After Skool but I love it lol I listen to all his podcasts
best part is where he points out that happiness and ACTUAL fulfillment comes from loving people outside of yourself. it's about the community you build and contribute to. if you feel like you don't belong, like there's no place where you fit in, that's natural: you're meant to create the place you belong with the people who would build it with you.
Whoa. Two of my favorite things coming together. So awesome to see Tim Dillon on here

Hahaha best After Skool collaboration imaginable 😂
Tim Dillon is the George Carlin of our generation.
Not even close wtf
I'd say Bill Hicks but that guy is still walking around masquerading as an internet persona called Alex Jones.
Egads, those words, if assessed peripherally,, all seems fair to partly cloudy.. if read head on however, IT BURNS!! 😱
George Carlin is a wordsmith university professor at the College of Life.
Tim Dillion is a sometimes funny, mostly drunk 6 year college junior who makes jokes in back of class and spends too many hours in conspiracy forums and not enough on class material.
