Really nice to see someone building this thing. This was the original fidget, but i now made more than 15 other songs and sligtly improved the design overall. Thanks for this video!
Hey, thanks for dropping by. This is a good fun design and you clearly put a lot of work into the series 👍👍 I printed the Happy Birthday one too, as it was my Grandson's birthday recently 🤣🤣th-cam.com/video/eWWvjhBSr6o/w-d-xo.html
It is quite hard to "play" it at just the right speed, but it certainly has novelty value. I also did the "Happy Birthday" version, that is tomorrows video 😁👍
This one is just the scale, so you slide it one way and the notes rise, slide it the other way and the notes drop, but you have to get the speed right or you hear nothing. I also printed the "Happy Birthday" version and that is even harder to play at the right speed, but when you get it right you can hear the first few notes and it is recognisable, just.
Gosh, I just had a quick look on Thingiverse and there is quite a selection. The only problem there is that I have no musical talent, so the "magic" would be lost. th-cam.com/users/shortsh41NfHAX9Mc but probably th-cam.com/users/shortsUs6O9-6u-ws
What is old is new again. I come from a time when all school boys carried a hair comb in their back pocket. I remember strumming the teeth of my comb thinking I was the first person to discover it could make "music" .
Gosh, I really didn't make the connection, but now you have said it, it all comes back 🤣 There is quite a selection of "tunes" they have made available. The next video is the "Happy Birthday" one. I haven't done any more (so far).

Clever design I like that 👍

I wonder if you can make a 3D printed mouth organ not sure if plastic reeds would be any good but you never know. 👍
@@johnwynne-qx6br There is a Mouth Organ on Thingiverse, but looking at it, I am pretty sure it is a joke www.thingiverse.com/thing:1030185
I printed this and I wasn't able to distinguish the tune, it went straight into the reject pile.
I don't think it's meant to play a tune. It's a fidget gadget. IMHO, it would drive me nuts. 😂

I love the music overlay! Speaking of musical instruments, my daughter printed a functional ocarina. Would you be interested in that?

This is exactly how I came up with the idea!
