I definitely think that yoriichi should have acted more towards seeing tanjiro’s family attacked by demons. Considering the fact that that’s how his wife and baby died. Because they got attacked by demons as well.
I'm not sure if people know this, but it's fairly common for demons to fight another demon. You made them happy when they saw Nezuko fighting Daki, so I assume they instantly thought it was a good thing. Demons fight lowermoons and uppermoons for their place. Demons will probably have to become a lower moon before battling against uppermoons though. Muzan most likely allowed Nezuko to beat Daki making her stronger, so that he could eventually eat her to gain the power she got from that fight and her previous ones.
The thing is at that time the demon moons weren't a thing yet. Muzan was thinking about that project and the project wasn't complete when Akaza was turned into a demon and koku was a demon waaaaay before Akaza

Fun fact:before tanjiro's family dued nezuko survived before they died and before tanjiro leaves the house they eat but one of the receape is the blue flower that's why nezuko can walk on sun but never did that bc she know she will burn but not bc she sees the first demon dies bc of the sun so that's all:)
my theory on why tanjiro's attacks are so strong is because they are fuelled by his protective nature, especially toward those he sees as family or are family as is the case with nezuko, and no one else can match him because of that.
