      @@DeniseLookingOut Great! Every time I see signs for the Katy Trail, that song always comes to mind… One of these days I have to actually ride some of it!😁👍

    We live in not far from the KATY Trail. Wonderful ride. Fall is the best. Summer can be tough. It is hot and humid at times. Herman is wonderful in the fall. There was a time they had yearly rides from Union Mo to Herman Mo. Good vid.

    I have been binge watching several different channels for their individual experiences of the Katy Trail. I have a friend who is riding it in September with his Uncle and Brother, so I have given him the information/link to your video series, which is very well done. I think I may have talked myself into riding it next year towards the fall.

    You are right that there isn't much in Machens, there is nothing there at all. I got picked up there and there was the same shelter type structure but with a bell.

      I would have liked to ring the bell.

    Excellent series. Brings back good memories from my ride on the Katy last October. I didn't video my ride, only took photos. Very nice to watch your videos of the trail and see so many favorite places again.

    A great job on your Katy Trail Series!! Really enjoyed it, will have to see if I can make it up there some day! It's great to see such nice camp areas WShowers!! Always want a shower at the end of the day, in fact it's a must. Thanks again, will be checking out your channel!

      I’m glad it helps inspire you. Next is splitting the Empire State Trail into week trips. It was a trip that got cancelled last year due to injury. Now, I’m back and strong, ready to take on NY!

    I'm trying to decide which trail to ride this fall. Of the ones you've ridden, which is your favorite?

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@karyn4875 that’s a tough one. I would ask yourself what are your goals with a fall ride (do you wanna camp, looking to be off grid a bid, want a lot of town interactions.) Those all play into which I would recommend. Each trail is kinda unique in what they provide. Do I have a favorite? probably but it’s depending on what I wanted to get out of the trip.

      @DeniseLookingOut Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I am comfortable being alone and camping. While it's fun to visit small towns, I don't need to, and eating in a restaurant is not a necessity. I'm going to watch more of your videos and maybe I'll be able to determine which trail is more my touring style. Thanks.

      @@karyn4875based on that, The C&O/GAP is a great option with the hiker/biker sites or The Katy also has plenty of camping. The Ohio to Erie Trail isn’t as developed with camping opportunities, part of the reason I hotel toured that one. The Erie Canal I just did had plenty of camping, you just have to cobble it together but it’s more town experiences I think.

    Hi Denise. My wife and I finished the Katy Trail one week ago! Loved your videos. Can you tell me what kind of handlebar bag you use? It looks really useful
    Thanks

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congrats on finishing the Katy! Thanks for your compliment! The handlebar bag is a Swift Industries Catalyst. I love this bag! It expands nicely and durable. They also have a huge front bag called the Zeitgeist if you need something a bit larger. Swift Industries is an awesome company based out of Portland, OR.
