Thanks for the review Jack. I've got the same 'bike' but mine's a 2022 with a silver CVT side cover, I notice yours is black which is nicer, I think. I agree with all your comments, the ADV350 is way better than people might assume. Plenty of power and entertaining handling. The brakes are up to the job and the suspension, though firm at the back, works well. Any harshness in the twin shocks doesn't interfere with the handling. Once the bikes leant over it's really stable. The seat is wide, as you say, but tapers towards the front and so with a bit of shuffling forwards, I think smaller people could manage. I've done close to 6,000 miles now and its definitely holding my interest unlike many other bikes I've owned. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts after a few more miles. Cheers.
One of the best, if not the best walkaround review i ve seen on youtube for the ADV 350! I absolutely love this scooter! Actually planning to buy one but the thing is that there is none in stock at the moment and you have to wait for around a couple of months. The market is going crazy on this one! 😅 Enjoy it mate, stay safe and have fun! I ll be waiting for your next video! 🫡
Great review. Just coming up to my 1st service and have no complaints at all, other than the headlight needing adjusting down a bit and I can't find any reference to that in the manual. Could be a lot worse! I've been riding 50yrs, and like you, ridden just about everything including various Harley's over 30yrs. Got a 1250GS (which is also fantastic, as it should be for the price). The ADV can do pretty much the same job as the GS, especially on the back roads of Derbyshire, and you don't have to change your own gears ☺ I've used a RAM ball replacing a handlebar clamp screw. Cheap and neat phone/sat nav mount. Use one on my GS too. My mate has an S1000XR; takes the piss out of the scooter but can't shake me off over the back roads. I'm 70kg, so it goes really well 🤣 All round, bags of fun, cheap to run and good value.
I've had a similar problem with my keyless startup on my honda adv 150. I'm not an expert on this sort of thing but I think it may be some kind of electronic interference from my phone that I had in the same pocket of my pants. I'm not sure if that is possible, but when I moved the phone to a pocket that was away from the fob, I never have a problem with the fob linking up to the bike. I usually keep my phone in the left hand side cubby in the front of the bike. I've never had a problem with it not starting when kept there. A handlebar mount like you have, may be in just the right, wrong place, to cause an interference. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. I sure wish that honda would bring the 350 to the states. Scooters are awesome! 😊
I have the same scooter and I'm really pleased with it as well. Obviously the wind protection and the quite hard back suspension aren't perfect but for the rest I can't find any flaws. About the key problem I hope that you will solve it soon. On a Greek video someone mention something about an electromagnetic interference that might block the key. The company suggested that you have to maybe move the scooter a few meters away and mostly that you press the key button until the usually green light becomes red. Then back to green and red a couple of times. The last should be green of course and it should work. Try it and I hope that it will solve your little problem. Ride safety!
Pleasant user's review. Thanks. A couple of other you tubers have mentioned encountering your very same key problem and in both cases they found equal solution to the issue. The Honda dealer may have forgotten to tell you that all other things aside, their keyless scooter engines will not turn on unless you pull one of the break levers while you activate the ignition switch. I too came across the same issue when I first started riding my Sh 300. So, next time it happens, try giving one of your break levers a REALLY tight squeeze. Hope it works for you too. Safe riding.
Nice review, the Demo bike ADV350 from the Honda showroom was having the same issue not starting as the knob was getting stuck in one side and wouldnt start. After few mintutes if you walk away and come close to the bike, it would then work. I had this issue twice as I did my training from Honda and had the bike for 4 days. I guess its some issue with recognising the key.
May have missed another's comment, but for the taller rider, the higher, wider bars are easier on the back than the Forza. Forced changer from an 1150 GS, have been really and pleasantly surprised by its performance and handling in the real world of everyday 365 riding.
Makes sense, though I haven't seen any tall person's review yet. My knees knock on the handle bars of a Forza 350 though a BMW C400x or Piaggio Beverly 400 seem just large enough. Not for full lock. Really desperately hoping the ADV 350 fits me. It's crazy that this should be my number one concern but it's unavoidable.
@@nivelan I'm 6foot 32/33inch leg. Significant improvement over the Forza and wider bars, much improved for a u turn and the back. Goes rather well too, fun to ride. Bikers nod, it's easily mistaken for"not a scooter" road presence. Only one flaw , indicator/hazard switch position could be better. Oh and for me, much prefer the screen. Oh and the mirrors are well positioned too, better than the Forza. Honda have done rather well.
BHA on a Grom. Good one. I have had all sorts of bikes from XT500 to B-King with an Aerox 155 in there, and I am going to get one of these. I hate keyless, though. Nick Tuesday.
Good to hear of a maxi scooter rider who has experience and owns 'proper' motorcycles. I think I would probably go for the Forza 350 with better weather protection and an upgrade from my Forza 300 2018.
I ordered one of these for a trip to norway last year but they couldnt deliver in time so bought a bmw c400gt. Love the bike but a few niggles with dodgy switchgear. Best thing about the bmw is the power, large after market givi screen (total protection), heated seat and grips and bmw display / satnav. If honda did an integrated satnav option with iphone compatibility i may be tempted next time. Put 7000 miles on it year one, double what i do on other bikes, ridden right through winter. Off to spain on it next week, touring on a scooter is the best. And its keeping the miles off my ducati and allowed me to reduce family cars from 3 to 2. Scooters are the future.
Hi mark, unfortunately it’s not a case of starting the bike itself, it is a case of the circular lock not even turning to allow you to get to the on mark which then allows you to pull in the brake and push the start button. Someone else here has commented that this may be a Honda issue.
Great video, thanks. It's a real shame that dealers in Scotland do not have any demos to sit on to check for height / foot reach to the ground... Many thanks. Love from Scotland, X.
I had two new Honda's both with the key issue. Basically the battery goes after a few months in the key and the range is dreadful. My dealer knows about many people with same fault. Always carry a spare 2032. I was stranded twice, I've seem people unable to start them. Honda should use a backup real key system as the code is impossible to enter correct
Bought it 2022 yr. But i have a problem with the switch and ignition. Sometimes with ignition on and stand up etc.the bike doesnt start. and sometimes I can't turn the switch all the way left to put the steering lock on. Its so annoying.
Great review and a very nice looking bike. I ride a Forza 350 and like you am very pleased with it. I had the keyless issue a few years back when I owned a SH300i. The dealer changed the fob (only one supplied then) and the new unit worked without issue. Have you tried using the spare fob for a few days to see if the problem persists? I'm surprised that Honda haven't fitted an electric screen to this model, I use mine quite a bit on the Forza. I must admit, I prefer the analogue speedo / rev counter on the Forza, although the digital screen on the ADV looks smart. The suspension looks a lot better on the ADV, it's functional on the Forza but very basic / budget. Like you, I'm extremely impressed with the 350 (really 330cc 😀) engine. My previous bike was a SH300i and the increase in power is really noticeable. This engine performs really well and I have had a few raised eyebrows at the lights when I've pulled away! The other benefit with this engine is the superb economy, I'm getting over 80mpg and that creeps up to 85mpg on a long steady ride. At 5ft 5in, I manage the seat height but tend to slide forward when coming to a stop so I can safely reach the ground. It was a bit daunting when I first got the Forza but now it comes as second nature .. plus the wide seat is very comfortable. I think both the Forza and ADV make great commuters, with the ability to be able to do motorway speeds with relative ease.
Nice looking bike. When you said this was not a tech review I thought great. Too many people spouting pointless numbers they don't completely understand. The important bits is what its like to live with, well done, no BBS 😌(BikerBullShit) Glad you mentioned the size of the bike giving you more road presence, very important. Your size and weight and age also helps in the "we know where you are coming from zone" Gonna try one of these at Pevensey Bay See you at Whiteways maybe (XL750 White, with BlacknRed Shark) Thanks
I would identify with feeling underpowered on a 125, but mainly because of other road users. I could get a bigger bike, but then again I could keep the extra £2.5k required, spend it on other things, and continue to hold up the impatient ones on my commute. I've always thought that if people are in such a hurry, they really should have left earlier.
You don’t have a problem with your key! Sometimes, when you have the key in your pocket it deactivates itself and you just have to press the activate button…
The problem you are having with the fob has been documented on another channel. I believe the cure is to ensure you are pulling on the brake hard enough when starting. Hope this helps.
Hi, thanks but the issue isn’t starting the bike (pull in brake lever hard and push start button) but the fact the fob is not recognised, this means you cannot turn the function dial to get to the point you then have to pull the brake in, sad to say it’s a fob issue, not to do with the brake (seen this on other channel also.) thanks though 🙏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
had a forza 350 and it got nicked im not sure if to get another on or an adv350 the wheels on this arnt good either cant even put a chain through the wheel

Not starting easy is sort of common in other reviews too.. The solution .. Squeez the brake more when starting .. According to them

I am thinking of changing my old Kymco 250 maxi scooter and retired it.. ADV 350 is first on the list
Great review. I'm in the first few weeks of ownership and I love it.
Test ride one last week, really impressed. PXing my Xmax 250 in for a new one, a Falcon grey one hopefully getting next week.

They do look a lot cooler. The X ADV is so close the the line between scooter and motorbike.

I just got a 400 burgman, have two bikes but the scooter is ace, I am going on more trips this year with the scooter.
As far as starting make sure you really pull the break hard ! I have heard this a few times ! Good luck

Can you put a taller windscreen on this scooter?
If you could have only one bike in the garage, what with the other bikes you’ve ridden and currently own… interested to hear what you would choose.
Great review. Very informative. How tall are you? I am 6ft 1. Would this be suited to a tall petson?

You're correct, I don't think it's down to people being in a hurry, people are very aggressive today and it reflects in their driving, riding.
where did you source the stickers on the handguards?
Good looking scoot, but a bit too expensive for my pocket.Seems like it goes well which is always welcomed.
Are these available in the states?
U-lock and heavy chain under the seat. U must be living in UK 🙂
In Poland I do not need even single one for my ADV.
Yep. And we need heavier chains for our garages at home! 😢

It’s not a 350 cc it’s a 330 cc.
You guys have to stop calling it a scooter because it's not..
It is. Not sure what county you are in, but in the UK it’s a scooter.
It’s a motorcycle that’s classified as a scooter just like sport bikes , cruisers , and so on.
Could have shown you riding it.
