They did this when I saw them at Warped Tour several years ago, but the real surprise was when they came on and and said "We are Metallica!" and then went on to do the first verse and chorus of Master of Puppets.
I have seen RBF three times live and they are a complete pleasure to experience. Wonderful guys too, as they're so friendly and my most recent time, Johnny Christmas (the trumpeter) immediately gave me the setlist after the show and took a photo with me and Ed (the drummer) gave me and my mom tour waters (which is Monster's special for touring musicians). I love Reel Big Fish!!!
Saw these guys for the first time at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. They were absolutely fantastic. Saw them several times since then, and while I rarely listen to anything from my high school days, RBF is the sole exception.
seen rbf a total of 52 times between several states over the last 20 years .and this song is always the highlight to me.Got so many things signed by Aaron and it's always a pleasure. Used to be a close drive in Atlanta and sad to see no Atlanta tour dates this fall and winter. I need a RBF show more than ever right now. Love you guys and I just might be your biggest actual fan ! Love you guys keep being you and remember, everyone else is an asshole !
I wish I could forward this video to my friend Nick he used to love this band's back in high school late 90s I lost touch with him I have no idea where he is right now I hope he's doing well and if he reads this love you man
So here’s something funny about this performance. I was at this particular show and the way they edited it for this DVD omits something really funny that happened during the actual show. When they went into their S.R. bit, they actually played the punk version first instead of the original. I and pretty much everybody in the crowd were kinda confused because we weren’t sure if they just forgot to do the original. As they were about to play the blues version, Scott finally says, “Oh wait. We forgot to do the original.” Then Aaron goes, “We did? But I have it on my teleprompter that we did that as a joke.” I totally understand why they edited it to look like they played in the original order for the DVD because they wanted it look like a regular RBF show for those who weren’t there. Even still, I was a little bummed they edited like this because the way it actually happens for real was even more funny than how it looks in this video. Still great to watch though and I remember this show like it was yesterday. Streetlight played before RBF and they were great as always.
Bra stick'm Ha ha-ha-ha stick'm Bra stick'm Ha ha-ha-ha stick'm What ever happened to suburban rhythm? Why did ed and scott quit? Please don’t go, suburban rhythm! All the other bands are just shit! A real big fish en de la mer because I start a record company that’s gonna repair They mess up all the lyrics and they got no style I say, “they’re gonna get it right, but it might take a while” (do wah!) Don’t touch that dial I’ve never been told if we’re that good And i said i’d never, never play with a ska band again I guess i never showed up What ever happened to suburban rhythm? Why did ed and scott quit? (would you please drop some bass and shit?) Please don’t go, suburban rhythm All the other bands are just shit (you said it!)
That's third wave ska for you :'D the early naughties sucked the soul out of ska by removing the black people and adding the oh so white-centric pop-punk into it. Oh, but before I get accused of baiting, I'm a white dude who loves this version of ska as well as the others. I'm just honest about it.
Also, when I say "sucked the soul" out of. Go look at how many songs RBF have written about how empty and cynical the music industry is. They, like, agree. They're just along for the ride :'D
It would be rare to see anyone who isn’t white there to be honest as it’s mostly punk with trumpets. I have never heard of a black ska punk fan unfortunately as I wish all races felt welcome to listen.

They came to my college for free and they kicked ass.

Scott's got the perfect chops for the blues version.

There’s another version of this somewhere where their trumpet player, I think, was black.
Disrespecting death metal does not make you a “master” still love y’all though❤️
Bro where's the disrespect tho
It’s just good fun
