There where only local people as spectators, that was for sure. Never been there before, so I don't know about the mutilation. They did tell from different temples they have different kind of processions. So maybe on other days it is more strong.
looks like you rented a car and a driver. I was always tempted to book a hotel wear your hotel as there are several Marriott properties and the beach looked really peaceful. But I never could figured out how to travel to the rest of Phuket without paying too much. What do you think about renting a car as opposed to a scooter?
Yes, we rented a car with a driver, because we had no clue where to go in town. So wanted to make sure we would catch the procession. Renting a car directly is the best option I think. You can rent a car at the airport for around 600 THB per day. Which is about the same price that you pay for a taxi to Patong. We love to rent a motorcycle, as it gives you the feeling of freedom. But be careful if you are not experienced.
@@globaltravelmate thanks. I have been thinking about doing car rentals in phuket/chiang mai/ko samui area. my biggest worries has always been the traffic and the infamous rip off rental companies... I guess I will just have to figure out who are the reputable rental companies if I don't use Hertz.
