I knew a former Colorado rancher who owned a ranch near Del Norte and one near Mesa, Arizona. The sight of strange harsh glaring lights on the mountains to the southeast near Alamosa, Colorado was a common sight. Odd aircraft with extremely strong searchlights would meander through the peaks. Strange and odd animal mutilations would occur here. These sights bothered him and his wife . . . a lot. One night spelled the end of his continued life in this weird area. His wife had died a few years prior and he now lived alone. He told me that he had gone to bed early--he had to get up early to take care of livestock and chores. His bedroom window looked out on an adjoining east corral which was fenced in--with the house nearly a couple of feet to the fence line. Here were several cattle he looked after which had been divided from the herd for several reasons. Around 1:00 am, he was awakened by a bright, intense white light blasting through the window momentarily. He got up to see what was going on. As he peered over the window sill, he couldn't believe his eyes: a large saucer-shaped object about 50 feet in diameter was hovering above one of his cows, not but 100 feet away from the house. A cow was surrounded by light. The vehicle utilized the light to power up a strength to lift the animal into the base of the craft hovering above. This sight put the fear of God into the rancher. He told me that he rushed away from the window. Snuggled down between the floor and wall. Didn't sleep the remainder of the entire night utterly petrified. No sounds were heard except for the animal's cries and then silence. At dawn, the rancher, dressed, rushed out to the corral area and found--less than 30 feet away from his bedroom window . . . the mutilated carcass of the same cow he had seen levitated by the craft. Calling the sheriff, he contacted authorities who listened to his story and basically told him he couldn't do anything about these incidents. The authorities were helpless.
I talked to him about this and he told me that Robert Stack's television program, "Unsolved Mysteries," had contacted him about the event, arranged an interview and he talked to them on camera. The rancher said he would do it under the condition that his face not be shown nor any identifying information be divulged. The harrowing incident put such fear into him that he decided all of the weird events he had witnessed over the many years he had owned the ranch--and he was raised there as a youngster--would keep him there no longer and that he had decided to sell the property and move to his other land in Arizona. I know this individual personally as I was also a horseman and accompanied him in the Arizona mountains on pack trips. He was a very dependable, conservative veteran, with many contracts to do work for electric utilities, as well as a solid work and community trustworthiness. Knowing his sincere story and knowing his background leaves no doubt in my mind. The story is true and I believe . . . quite reliable . . . if it came from him. This rancher is SOLID and CREDIBLE. This bizarre narrative is not something he would "make up." He received no money for this. Publicity was not welcome because of his work with Arizona utilities and he could not believe what he had seen--but had to accept the fact this had ACTUALLY occurred. "This was so frightening," he said to me, "I simply couldn't stay here any longer." True story and I vouch for him.

I am 38 now and I haven’t really told anyone this because people wouldn’t believe it. I was 16 driving on a backwood dirt road that I lived on. My friend and I saw 4 dome shaped objects in the sky sitting still. 2 of them were on top and the other 2 were on the bottom in almost a perfect square. They dropped down a little in exact harmony. They then flew away in opposite directions of each other. It looked like they basically just disappeared. This was also in day light.

Whoever made this should have talked to a local. (I live in Saguache county)
First, Salida is NOT in the SLV, you have to go over Poncha Pass to get to the SLV from Salida. It is not the Entry to the SLV, that would be Poncha Springs. Salida is not a community of artists so much as it is a community of rich widows that jacked the cost of living up so high that artists cannot afford to live there anymore.
The UFO Observatory near Hooper (where the first recorded case of livestock mutilation happened) would be a better destination than Salida, if UFOs are actually your interest. Crestone, where Stephen Greer's group was able to repeatedly call down UFOs, Mount Blanca, which the indigenous people report an alien base under that goes back as long as their legends...
The SLV was a pilgramage spot for shaman from as far as the Yucatan and Iroquois areas in ancient times.
Salida, unlike the SLV, pumps a whole bunch of money into its tourism, because it wants to be the next yuppie hellhole like Aspen or Vail. The SLV has the Sand Dunes, Pentente Canyon (some of the best rock climbing in the world) and like half of the 14ers in Colorado.
There's also much more interesting and better documented stories than the UFO sightings, like the giant snake (reportedly large enough that it was able to lift its head 6 feet off the ground) that the BLM (Bureau of Land Management. Saguache is largely national forest land, and, frankly, there is only like one black permanent resident in the county last I knew, so the other BLM is not really relevant around here {Tho he does matter, I haven't met him, I guess he is a vet who moved out here to be away from people}, unless the B was Brown, as we do have a large Latina/o population and a pretty large indigenous and Asian population as well.) went to great lengths to seal off the cave of.
They completely skipped Crestone, a town up next to the back side of the dunes that houses 7 Tibetian Buddhist centers, 3 Zen Buddhist centers, 3 Hindu Ashrams, a Carmelite Retreat, 2 Native American groups, a Sufi group, and several other religious groups from around the world. It also is where Stephen Greer has the offices where he led groups on multiple occasions that claimed to have called down UFOs. Crestone is considered to be a spiritual vortex equal to or stronger than Sedona by the types who believe in such things.
Ok, when they show Judy, it becomes obvious this documentary is old. I would guess at least 20 years old. Which would explain why they say Salida is an artist town.
(Judy is an awesome lady, and it's $10/night to camp at her place by the watchtower, which, even without UFO's, has arguably the best view in the valley from its platform. But she is MUCH younger in this. Although I saw no UFOs there, I, along with another camper who I met there both saw unexplainable movement of lights on the ground that were solar ground lamps when I went to examine, but we both saw them move, and there was noone else around.)
Aside from the UFO Observatory and Colorado Gators and KRZA, I have not noticed any of the other businesses mentioned here in a few years of living here.
The Taos valley is a separate valley. I don't know if the inn there is still around. Probably as Taos is a more stable economy.
The only people I know out here who have not seen things in the night sky are those that do not look at it.

My girlfriend lived in del Norte area. She saw conical, spinning beams of light, “aimed” at the sky. She used a compost toilet and lived in a small camper and would get a lot of night sky while being there. Her mom and moms boyfriend confirmed the sighting.
In Wyoming my dad saw a ball of light (described as looking like a headlight) moving above the ground unnaturally. My family from Wyoming has many many UFO stories, I even have a half grandpa who claimed to have been abducted.

Very good comment on the focus of the documentary .
I lived in the SLV for over 30 years.
The documentary does not mention that the SLV is including in huge MOA, Military Operations Area.
I kept binoculars with me , even at work.
On a daily basis you could see military aircraft.
I would sit outside after dark and observe all sorts of lighted aerial objects, most of which could be explained, some were not so explainable!!
Go and see it before the "eclectic" hipsters from Crestone ruin it.

I've been keeping this to myself for years now, I've told a few people about it, but I can say 100% that the Edwards footage is a flying saucer and I really believe it was being controlled by a alien source, because it was at the end of 1999 slash 2000, I seen the exact same saucer hovering over my job when I got off work, and it was 3 to 4 football fields in distance at the most away from me, maybe even closer and I could make out the windows on it, and I turned to my friends and everyone seen it and acted like it was no big deal, and I had this feeling as if I was being watched, but anyways I jumped in the back of my friends pickup truck for a ride to my brothers house about 2 and a half miles away, and the saucer stayed with us the whole way, strangely at the same distance the whole way there, so I got dropped off by my friend and started walking down the dirt road leading to my brothers house and lost sight of it in the tree line, when I got to my brothers house, I wanted to use my brothers beta camera I think that was the kind of camera he had at the time, but when I went back outside I couldn't see it still, just wished I could got it on film, cause I can say 100 % it's real and it does exist

I have property in Sangre de Cristo mountains overlooking the San Luis Valley, the elevation of my property is about 9,000 ft, covered in pinon and other pines as well as aspens. Every couple of nights during late summer, I'd see some sort of space craft in flight in a linear line in an overall shape of a.square, maybe 4x4 square miles and it would do it for hours. Then it would just speed off and vanish. My suspicions is one the military working on some type of radar or it's ET analysing the huge network of aspens trees and living organisms

Doty was Air Force Counterintelligence Officer who specialized in disinformation. He's admitted to disinforming Paul Benowitz and Linda Moulten Howe and is suspected of many other things that can't be proven. He's retired now and admits everything he says nowadays is true but I'd take everything he says with a huge grain of salt because many of the claims he has made are undoubtedly not true. Personally, I believe he was maybe read into a secret ufo program about recovered craft and possibly bodies but that's it. He's contradicted himself and changed details in his stories way too much over the years for me to trust him.

The visitors seem to like hills and mountains. My family and I used to see them every night over the Adelaide hills in South Australia in the 70s and 80s. When they would speed up they would glow brighter and duller when moving slow. Sometimes they would stop dead and hover like a bird of pray waiting to pounce then drop strait to the ground. They could change direction very sharply no curving manoeuvres just strait angle turns. One night we saw a very large light blue triangle it was very high up it moved slowly across the sky with no noise totally silent. In the 70s and 80s there were a lot of reports of cattle mutilation reported in the hills. I've seen them recently stopping and dropping to the ground when driving over the hills at night so I believe they are still hear!

Schirmer's analysis on cattle mutilations regarding ET's traveling millions of miles just to kill cattle misses a whole host of possibilities. For example an abductee noted she was told that the samples taken were to determine whether the species and us are subject to a certain bacteria/disease that we cannot see in our microscopes but that they can see by getting down to the atomic level to determine the existence of this threat. This makes perfect sense especially if they made us and do not wast to see us die off. So Schirmer is rationalizing his analysis as well as anyone else would I just wish he wold acknowledge that his position is only a theory and until. we can get to the bottom of this, his theories are no better than anyone else's. In a court of law we rely upon eye witnesses every day. We rely upon experts to help as well. If an advanced species is here analyzing us they would want to do so with as little interruption as possible. Especially if we were an experiment. Life abounds in space all around us, and I say that the best evidence is that we are here, and we have souls, that are probably ET in nature. So then I suppose that really messes up the equation for sides.

Dismissively sneering at witnesses and persons who believe they have been affected by UFO's is a surefire way to drive them far away from science and reason. Actually it is not. Only the scientific measurement tools available in the hands of citizens are very limited. Governments' info gathering capacity and capabilities are vastly greater. But they are not for you and I citizens !!! This phenomena had been constantly observed by U.S. and U.K. Governments (and probably by former USSR) for at least 80 years since the "Foo Fighters" of WW II. (There is a good chance that shortly after other governments followed suit.) They have been observing this data for nearly a century not with some "Crowd Funded" basic equipment but with every imaginable Top of the Line, State of the Art Uber-Super gadget, instrument, equipment, sensor, computer, machine, radar, spectograph, telescope, camera, satellite etc. SO THEREFORE: Governments has already AT LEAST all kinds and sorts of "Scientific" data that we "Citizen Scientists" hope to achieve and collect in the future few decades with limited instruments and most certainly MUCH MORE. They (Governments) have all the quality cool toys and instruments, long observation periods and large data sets of thousands of cases. They certainly know and analyzed all their flight characteristics, flight paths, hot spots, source orbits in space, patterns etc.
