Orville is old Star Trek with more humor, but not over the top. And, the humor feels so organic to the characters that even when it misses it's not a big deal. It wears it influences on its sleeves and is great for it.
We watch Discovery because we are waiting for the episode when Star Trek actually shows up. With The Orville, there is a wink and a nudge that we know it's Star Trek even if it isn't called that.
Very, very cool interview. It went into a lot of details, the guy was pretty competent in asking a lot of things and letting this amazing woman talk. I love The Orville after seeing only 3 episodes and now after hearing how they go about it I love it even more.
And ironically its cheaper to shoot sci fi these days. my problem with the Orville is that its not as funny as it could be. Its indeed a bad parody with major comic talent behind it.
Last year I bought the 1st season DVD of The Orville without knowing what to expect but figuring I'd like it well enough. I'm frankly shocked at how excellent the show is. I knew that Seth MacFarlane was talented, but now I realize he's a genius. Perhaps Seth will find it ironic that I consider him and his show proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy, like beer.
I love Adrianne, the interview would have been better if it didn't get political. Also, it's an interview about the Orville... let Friday Night Lights go...
@@vanmoody, if it were known she was a conservative, the interview would never have happened, as she wouldn't have been allowed to be cast. Best to keep your mouth shut about politics. If you have a calling to help others, do it yourself, and keep the lying politicians out of the loop.
This interview is kind of weird. The Audience didn't seem into it, the Host didn't seem too confident. Idk. She was great though. I'm a big fan of her work, and The Orville
I do love the show. I also think the actress does an amazing job. What is really killing me is how everything in the industry has to be political and if it's not being subtle enough then you have people like this that have to amp it up. Almost takes the fun out of watching anything at this point. Can't a show just be a good show paying respect to its genre without throwing heavy handed politics into everything?
I my have to ckeck out Friday Night Lights, I started to when it was first on because it had the guy from 'Early Edition' on it but figured it would get axed pretty quick like most CBS shows I do like, but now that know Commander Grayson was on it, worth a second look
The orville tackle social subjects the way it should be, not entitely one sided and making peoples think instead of just hammering the popular opinion of the week. If there is any chance to create a bridge between the increasingly cleaved population, we need more shows to use this approach, instead of treating the average viewer like a dumb kid.
I don't understand why she wasn't chosen as Carol Danvers in the MCU but yes, please become rogue and absorb her powers !!! We never saw the "strong" Rogue on the big screen yet. Now that Disney got the rights back, and with many of the beloved characters leaving the team soon, they will need new popular characters to fill the gap. Adrianne as Rogue and Tom Hardy as Wolverine would be cool. ... ...sure, she's also Bobbi Morse (and was a cool one too) but we never see AoS characters on the big screen and they got rid of her character so... I guess giving her the blond Carol Danvers roles might have been too similar, but Rogue, with her pale skin and red/white hairs would fool even those who watched AoS. If any disney exec is passing by : you guys lost a lot of the hardcore fans with all the politics hammered during the CM campaign. You were lucky peoples await Avengers 4 so much, but past that point it's hazardous. If you remove Thor, Iron Man, and (in our cases) especially Captain America from the roster, you might very well lose the rest. So please, please consider Adrianne and Tom for Rogue and Wolverine.
What the hell I tuned in to this video to hear about the Orville, and they are talking about Friday Night Lights. IT Stunk . If you advertise your going to talk about the Orville then DON"T TALK ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE TITLED SUBJECT. I feel cheated.
Sorry, it is not racially and ethically divisive so just not possible it owes ANYTHING to Obama. But I guess you can be allowed to fantasize that Obama has some sort of positive legacy.
Dont respect her anymore. She gets "married" to her cast mate then dumps him. And the liars in Hollywood always say that the divorce was mutual. No such thing. Scott Grimes isnt going to dump a physical beauty like her. I think she is full of herself.
I knew from the start, that as Hollywood actors/actresses, they'd all likely be #LWNJ (left wing nut jobs), and I'm okay with that, as long as they don't start pushing that meme into the series. Keep it neutral and funny, and keep the politics out of it. As soon as they start to make it about 'this administration' or 'that administration', they will lose 1/2 the country and their ratings will fall like a lead balloon. So far, the most annoying thing for me on the show are Dr. Finn's kids. At least the kids on TNG were (for the most part) well behaved and intelligent (beyond today's norms). Finn's kids look like throw backs to the 20th century .. immature kids fighting over a 'Gameboy'. The other annoyance is: 13 shows do NOT a season make. Trek shows all had 23-26 shows per season (except for the intro to DS9, which was introduced 1/2 way thru a regular season).
The comedy is not my cup of tea for me, and I keep comparing every scene to something I've already seen in Star Trek. Makes it less predictable, despite loving the production design. Right now, I'm more of a fan of Discovery which leaves me wondering about what's going on and who's who. Unpredictability is king.
lol. Oh look! A lens flare showed up right when I didn't expect it!! Oh, another action sequence based on someone doing the exact opposite of what they came here to do!! Bad writing is king! I'm glad Discovery is out there. Every generation deserves to get a Star Trek to call their own. And then a decade or two later they get to gripe about the Star Trek for that generation.
Seriously, lose some weight! Just because you've hit the Wall and pulled the pin on the fat grenade doesn't mean I should have to see it on a Sci Fi show.
Sorry guy, she's got the right amount in her bones. Heroin-chic has been out of style for a while. Maybe you should learn what actual, healthy women look like.

Adrianne is super charismatic! She's a pleasure to watch. Many other actresses should get a clue (or two) from her.
agree.
I miss her on Agents of SHIELD
First thing I saw her on was Supernatural. She was Sam's fiance who died at the end of the first episode.
It's so much better than ST Discovery. LOL
We watch Discovery because we are waiting for the episode when Star Trek actually shows up. With The Orville, there is a wink and a nudge that we know it's Star Trek even if it isn't called that.
I mean i have a broken pencil sharpener thats better than Discovery..
True. STD lacks humor. it feels contrived. if there's such a thing as too much diversity ...
She should be way more Famous, She's one of the best working actresses her age!!
You clearly haven't watched her
Just watched all 12 episodes of The Orville. Palicki is definitely the breakout star of the show.
Very, very cool interview. It went into a lot of details, the guy was pretty competent in asking a lot of things and letting this amazing woman talk. I love The Orville after seeing only 3 episodes and now after hearing how they go about it I love it even more.
She seems so fucking cool and down to earth. Not to mention she's gorgeous
she is ugly
Somebody please make a compilation video of Adriane Palicki in all her action/fight scenes!
The Orville is Star Trek
Star Trek wishes it was The Orville.
Orville is (90s) Star Trek in all but Name.
Discovery is Star Trek in Name only.
Is better than ...
star trek was a comedy?
And ironically its cheaper to shoot sci fi these days. my problem with the Orville is that its not as funny as it could be. Its indeed a bad parody with major comic talent behind it.
Adrianne Palicki has the best lines so far and there's a lot of good lines too. I was rolling on the floor laughing.
Great interview absolutely in love with this show right now. Feel truly spoilt by good tv these days!! Please renew for season 2!
Adrianne Palicki is great, plz find someone that knows how to run an interview
she is beautiful! Love The Orville, such a great series
Skip to 11:20 to avoid Friday Night Lights
Thanks!
Fox had better not go Firefly on The Orville.
They already have a second season. Fox has made a lot of money off Seth so I think even if the rating go down there will be at least 3 seasons
It's Seth Macfarlane. Ain't no one's gonna have the balls to step on his dick
That aged well
@@Stranger_In_The_Alps no it did. You have a problem! Do want a jar of pickle ass wuppp.. no I thought so
Great show the Orville...well i like season 2 a lot.
This show is amazing! It's genuine star trek!
Yeah its great

I love The Orville.
The Orville is amazing, love it so far! Episode 4 has been my favourite so far!
She is smoking hot.
I sat down and watched the orville in one sitting, It was love at first sight, I petitioned to be cast in season 3, can't wait to get involved.
That aged well. oof
Great interview.

That interviewer is the issue. There’s no soul behind the eyes.
Sure I guess she could play a pretty good Rogue. She'd get my vote.
Did the interviewer just spend 10 minutes of this half hour talking about Friday Night Lights instead of Orville?
yep............pretty much
Let’s be honest, a lot more people watched Friday Night Lights than Orville
@@Stranger_In_The_Alps ya. But I prefer Orville
Beautiful, charming, talented, charismatic
"Bad ass in this episode"? She's bad ass in everything!
She is so frikkin hot i have no words
no she is not
dude u gay?
@@beinghonest9433 she is what are you talking about
@@paperchasindude6578 weird you talking about me yeah I still think she is not hot but that's my opinion go ahead like her.

It really hurts me seeing Adrianne's character getting strapped and beaten like Mockingbird in Agents of Shield.
Excellent interview
I guess the proper title should have been "Friday Night Lights" and things..
I love this interview
I am a totally a super fan.

She looks like 70” Jane Fonda to me! ( beautiful!) and voice also! ( sexy)
Very funny actress in The Orville which is a fantastic series
This host has clearly not given AoS a second look nor did he seem to even recognize the name Mockingbird.
Renew the Orville ! Damn !
I wonder if the season 1 will come out on DVD before Christmas.
She should be playing Wonder Woman.
The Orville is fantastic, the true new Star Trek! :-)
More information than I wanted to know.

The orville is set 400 years into the future. Would people be still watching Friends re-runs?
She's beautiful
god i love that show.
Pray to kelly (if u know what i mean lol)
also i miss her so much on agents of shield
I remember her from Friday Night Lights.
There was a pheromone plot that I found upsetting, but end of episode everything sets back to normal as '80's shows do.
Makes me laugh when she says watching shows in the 80s .think about that one guys ?
Ha
Can't watch this without thinking about Bill Burr and his hatred for the chairs lol

The Word of Kelly.
Lovely lady
She would make a MUCH better Wonder Woman than Gal.
maybe they will release that 2011 pilot one day
maybe they'll realize this too and reboot it with her in that role one day
I fear by then she will be seen as too old.
Tequila? Girl, Brandy!

Audio too low
Who sedated the audience?
"where are your friends?"
Seth McFarlane is very close friends with Rush Limbaugh.
What was he on when he supported obama? Where can I get some ??
Not enough Orville, too much of this is about FNL
This interviewer. Can't stop complaining and won't quit brown nosing. Who is he and how the hell can people sit and watch him whatever he does?
LegoSwordViedos Yes. Oh I'm sorry was that a question?
Last of the grey Jedi he's a soy boy.
Go check out egotastic fun time
She wanted to be close to Alex Jones, lol!
she is so hot in orville.
This crowd is so so dead.
So, basically the Orville came about due to Obama? ...Thanks, Obama!
Ian Jones yeah guess he had to indirectly do something right huh
And Obama getting into office owes a great deal to Jeri Ryan from Voyager. So The Orville is part of the Trek lineage.
Sorry, it is not racially and ethically divisive so just not possible it owes ANYTHING to Obama. But I guess you can be allowed to fantasize that Obama has some sort of positive legacy.
Episode 4 was a total Flat Earth/Truman Show story line.
Actually it was more or less just a copy of an episode from The Original Series, "For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky."
I didn't come here to talk about football. Booo sports.
Who the hell is this creepy dude? And those chairs look so uncomfortable
