I remember in the late 1990s I was working on a car. I went out with my friends to the hardware store and I bought the three piece long reach set with dark red handles. It was pretty expensive if I remember like $70 oh my friends laughed at me for spending too much money on it. I still have it to this day and I’ve used it many many times in fact just yesterday.
I have a newer set of USA made, SK tools pliers from Western Forge. The finish work on those are much nicer. I've had to send back the last 4 pairs made by Western Forge because the quality was horrible. I really miss when US manufacturers held themselves to a higher standard. People don't take as much pride in what they make anymore, and our USA tool manufacturing has fallen off because of it. Recent Tsunoda pliers I've bought from Japan are much better quality and cost a lot less. On the other hand, pliers I've received from Wilde have been great. Channel Lock are ok, but they've slipped from the quality they used to produce 20 years or so ago.
Yeah, unfortunately I have heard complaints from more than one person that in the later years of WF production the finish was not as expected. Still a shame they closed. Appreciate the tip on Tsunoda, will have to check them out! Thanks for watching!

Great story! Good tools can last a lifetime. Thanks for watching!
Nice set. I have both the black and orange set
Very nice! The orange sets are increasingly hard to find.
