  • *This video documents my cleaning routine for the piggies. Without a surprise, Bubbles is always a sweet and responsible supervisor for my cleaning.
    Тема: Уборка для морских свинок.
*В этом видео показана моя процедура чистки морских свинок. Неудивительно, что Бабблс всегда милый и ответственный «руководитель» моей уборки.

Dear Josephine, cleaning the territory of guinea pigs is a very important and necessary procedure, and it is nice to see with what love and care you perform it! 🤗
It is especially funny to watch how Bubbles control the cleaning process and even put their approving signature on the acceptance document of the room! 😂
However, I have some concerns, and I outlined them in our chat. ☝

Traitement thermique seulement!
Bon week-end, notre athlète inégalée! 👍❤💪

Dear Tami, I agree not to remove their poop too often. I broom up the public carpet part every day, but I always leave some fresh poop in their hay pans. I do a thorough disinfection every 5-7 days, depending on the humidity in the air. I clean up more often when it is more humid, like in the summer.
The liquid I use is the medical-grade alcohol used for disinfecting wounds or before one takes a shot. It evaporates quickly and removes bacteria that can cause ear infections or fungal complications for piggies' skin and feet. This medical alcohol has the least hazardous chemicals because once the isopropyl evaporates, only water is left. It does not hurt the guinea pigs' sensitive and fragile breathing tubes. I usually use things that humans can use on babies. If babies are ok with it, then it is most likely safer for guinea pigs.
Thank you for your questions and comments! I love it when we can remind, question, or even debate a little to help us think more clearly with a broader scope! Please let us know if you have different ways of doing things! I will love it!😃😍🤩

@@MultipleBrainsWe just washed her bed linen in hot water with pre-soaking without using any soap solutions. We always ruled out using any chemicals to maintain her hygiene, especially when we needed to bathe her. Only clean water of the appropriate temperature!
By the way, real medical alcohol has the formula C2H5 (OH), which is present in all food alcoholic beverages, unlike the poisonous isopropyl alcohol - CH3CH(OH)CH3. And that alerted me..

@@oleg-in-2804@oleg-in-2804 Dear Oleg, the alcohol I use is from the medical hygiene section available in most supermarkets in the US. It is for people to clean their wounds. So, the content of this alcohol is extra mild and definitely not toxic. If harmful, it will not be sold on an open shelf and can not be used on human bodies. I will not use anything detrimental to my guinea pigs. I like your extra cautious attitude towards the safety of guinea pigs! I can assure you that I am using a safe cleaning method and that my piggies have never suffered from any fungal or bacterial infection. Because I let them roam freely on the carpet, keeping it clean and mold-free is also essential for the piggies' health. I think using medical-grade alcohol is not only efficient but also safe for piggies and humans. It is not toxic. If it is, I would not have chosen it, right? 😃
Please feel free to discuss this topic if you have more to say. All are very welcome!

Do those paper bags absorbe the urine at all? It didn't seem like it did.

Hi! How are you? Thank you for commenting! I used EP57 to explain how paper bags and hay bedding create a lasting dry floor for the piggies.
th-cam.com/video/dWoZRGHS4gg/w-d-xo.html (EP57 in case you are interested)
I use hay as a bedding because my free-roaming piggies like to pee and poo on the hay but only in the corners. Hay dust creates a density that can absorb pee. The paper lining is to see whether it is soaked through or not. I would clean up before it is soaked through for the piggies. They are happy when I do so! Therefore, hay is doing the job of keeping piggies' floors dry. Hay bedding is also healthier for piggies' claw-like feet. It creates an airy foundation. I also used several videos explaining hay bedding (EP26, EP28). I hope this answers your question.
      Hope all is well!😃
