    I used CND Shellac in Carnation Bliss. It's a soft powdery pink, not too cool with a fantastic formula. It looks great on warmer skin tones. It was a limited edition (of course) so you might not be able to find it easily. For the sparkle I added 1 coat of Blushing Topaz Full video in real time available in Patreon bit.ly/3SwkYGv

      I have them on Patreon :)
      It’s so difficult to figure out what works :) I had so many people complaining about the longer videos that they don’t need to see both hands being done etc. Also looking at the analytics on average only 13% of the video was being watched so I figured I will start making shorter versions.
      With TH-cam if there is not much interest in a video from our subscribers the first few days YT will not show or recommend it to other viewers and the video tanks. That’s why I started putting the longer content on Patreon

      Thank you for your response! No, I totally didn’t take it as criticism. I really appreciate your feedback. I’m just a little frustrated with how YT works.
      I don’t do this for TH-cam but if YT deems a video not interesting by the way how viewers react to it, it won’t show it further 🥲

    Hi Anna, thank you so much for your amazing videos! For sure you completely changed my nail care routine and saved my poor skin from being slashed. Now my skin around the nails looks perfect (no cuts, no overgrown skin, no swelling).
    I have a question. I like my nails super short with preferably no free edge (I don't bite nails or anything like that). Is it safe to wear nails that short? As they grow a little bit longer dirt gets under my nails and I get obsessed with cleaning it all the time. Is it damaging to the nail bed at all or can it change the shape of my natural nail?

    • @TheSalonLife

    I love watching these! I do have a question - I’ve watched you say so many times in the past year or so that we should protect our nail plate at all costs. That we shouldn’t buff our nails bc that takes off the top layer or two of the nail and this makes the nail weaker. But in this video, you used the electric tool to not only smooth the edges, you all ran it along the nail to remove the cuticle that was stuck to the nail. It looks like you are being very gentle but I am still wondering about the nail itself. It seems like you were taking off the top layer of the nail in places. Why not just use the cuticle remover (love Blue Cross, btw, thanks so much for that recommendation!) to get at the sticky cuticle stuck to the nail? Thanks for all you do - my nails are SO much better for listening/learning from you!

    • @althea1315

      Either you don’t have the base under the lamp long enough or there is something wrong with the lamp. I’m guessing the base is still significantly wet and not yet set

    So pretty! I’ve tried many diff brands of gel polish that requires a light to cure but they have created bumps and swelling on skin around the nail. Does this mean I’m allergic to all gel polish? Would love to see a video on this. Thank you! ❤

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mindy. If you are noticing bumps and swelling when using gel polishes it may be a wise idea to see a medical professional and get an allergy test done. Also we have a video where we discuss UV cured gel polish related allergies th-cam.com/video/o_TntfuahsM/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps! Thanks! - MSL

    Hello, I learn a lot from your videos. Thinking of getting back into nails. Was hoping you could tell me if CND is formulated without formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor. I know you really care about the natural. Thank you

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Nancy! All these ingredients you have listed are less allergenic than acrylates gel polishes are made with.
      There is actually nothing wrong with the above ingredients unless you are allergic to them. In the description box of this video there are some very important links to information about these ingredients (written by a chemist)
      The bottom line is, the “chemicals” are not good or bad. You can either use them responsibly and wisely or not. Lack of knowledge about them is more dangerous. And I wish the fear mongering would stop but it won’t because fear sells ;(

    Which solution are you using for the removal of gel nail paint??? Is filing is better or the solution which you are using??

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      CND Shellac (which is a brand of gel polish) is removed by acetone. Filing is very risky because you can go too far and file natural nail when the base coat is very thin like in this case.
      You can file off gel polish when it's applied over a thicker layer of gel.

    What are your thoughts on clients washing their hands before applying the gel polish? Or washing them when the gel manicure is done?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lisa! My clients and I both wash hands before service. Soaking nails for more than a minute might be problematic before gel polish application but washing usually takes less than 20 seconds so it's not a problem.
      Washing is also not a problem when the manicure is done.

    • @TheSalonLife

      Hello V! I don’t recommend gel polish use for DIY because enhancements products can be quite allergenic when improperly applied and cured

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello :). There is no alternatives for DD really. It is very different. Are you most interested in quick drying product? Manucurist could be an option then. It’s UV cured so still risk of reaction but if used properly it could be ok. I could show you how to use it. Hey, maybe a class?
      Manucurist is not nitrocellulose free so it can still stain the nail but it removes easily.

    I struggle allot with creamy colors from CND. It gets streaky and it bulks super annoying and frustrating😩. I tried allot of things like not pressing on the brush when applying, applying it thin as possible. But is still comes streaky and bulky on the nails. Do you have any tips?

  • @SeleneFaery
    @SeleneFaery ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi!! I have developed an interest in nails recently and i want to do my own semi permanent manicures. Is it possible to do so without buffing the nails?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Done correctly and worn correctly the nails need a minimum buff before application. CND Shellac doesn't need very buffed surface (if at all, depends on the nails and how you care for them). I just makes sure that there are no major catches in the nail around the cuticle area.
      PS: I don't really recommend gel polishes to people who are not specifically trained in these products. They are highly allergenic and many people develop permanent reactions to these products.
      I should make a video about this...
