The Coldstream Guards in Worcester

The band of her majesty's Coldstream Guards visited Worcester on 9th August 2003 to launch the city's first annual festival. In this video they play theme music from various movies.
The temperature was around 100F and it was tough to hold the camera above my head for so long but at least I didn't have to march in one of those uniforms.

This is the HOT band of the Guards Division now with their release of HEROS under their director of music Graham Jones. The name Coldstream Guards has a certain magic to it, but the other band of the Guards Division are just as good in their own right as this one. With the reductions in army music the Guards bands really are the core of army music now. The band recently toured the USA in 2008 with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who have also come out with recent CD releases that are popular.

As a Northumbrian (and someone who failed to join the army due to medical reasons - damned smahsed knee!), the Coldstream has a special place in my heart. Seen them a few times locally and they always put on a great band.

Definately the Coldstream Guards Band. Defining features include buttons in pairs on the front of the tunic, buttons in pairs on the cuffs, buttons in pairs on the reverse of the tunic below the belt and a garter star badge on the collar. The most obvious point is the plume in the bearskin, in the case of the coldstreams, red.
