@@SG98Films I had the idea Juan fused with Rava and sealed Vatu but because Vatu went mad with power during harmonic convergence. Vatu regrets everything now and Rava goes a bit mad trying to get Korra to put things back, a role reversal that leads Korra to separate from her past lives as she forms a new avatar cycle with Vatu, that way we can keep all the losing her past selves stuff. We could even say Rava has strongarmed the avatar before, blaming the moment Aang was almost forced to kill Ozai on Rava.
The thing is humans are a naturally chaotic lot, so having a spirit of order in a chaotic being i felt did a better job ensuring balance. Moreover, Raava starts out very contemptuous of humanity, and it takes Wan showing her his goodness for her to realize she was harsh. Vaatu also does honor his deal with unalaq.
the way you combined the 2nd and 3rd season, how you respected and adapted the approach of the spiritual world that was given to us in the last airbender, making raava and vatuu the representation of the balance etc... is incredible seriously very very good video, narration, rewriting thanks for making these 2 videos
Personally I actually love the idea of the lion turtles giving humans the ability to bend, it makes perfect sense and actually depends the Lore that we got in TLA. The Lion turtles gave humans the ability to use the elements while the Original benders taught human how to improve their skill in the element they have, this is exactly why Non-Benders exist.
The idea of making Ravva and Vatuu more as equals in this version definitely makes for a more compelling story. If one can’t exist without the other yet favor Ravva it just makes Vatuu seem like a pointless character, Vatuu being the spirit of chaos is ESSENTIAL in Asian philosophy, chaos can be good, it brings change, I like to think Vatuu had a part in the 100 year war, his power influenced the fire nation which it did throw the world out of balance but that’s where Ravva comes in. Having the two spirits basically hate each other is kinda stupid since they are considered ancient so you’d think they’d be chill with each other, I can definitely get behind the idea of them getting on each other’s nerves from time to time but we can call it a sibling disagreement or a lovers quarrel, their spirits chill. I actually have my own version of Ravva and Vatuu but it’s too long to explain in one comment.

Watching this video, I have multiple thoughts of my own, but, the one I wanna point out is: I want Wan to not be a firebender at first, or have anyone have bending other than protection in the spirit wilds. It's both because I find it more interesting that way and says a lot about his character that he was clever enough to get fire and keep it, but also because it feeds in Korra's character arc; she doesn't need bending, or to be the Avatar, to be special or useful. This would fit so well in your s2 arc as well because she still wouldn't have her bending throughout this whole time.
You missed the point. Korra being the Avatar and a bender IS what gives her life purpose, meaning she does need to be the Avatar. What she had to do was redefine her role.
@@vetarlittorf1807 I would definitely argue the entirety of Korra's arc was learning to accept and love herself for her own worth, not just the Avatar role, but, to each their own?
Buen video
While I defiantly think your rewrite helps with the show's pacing problems and fleshes out the charcters more (and I can't thank you enough for getting rid of the Lion Turtle retcon) but I think your Seasons still have a lot of the problems the originals did. IE: The Love triangle, making Amon a Bloodbender, not fleshing out the conflict of benders and non-benders, portals to the spirit world, leaving the portals open, and just giving random people Airbending due to harmonic conversions.
Hey for sure hahaha I agree completely🤣. Thats why at multiple points in part 1 and 2 I say that I inevitably dug myself into more than one hole. Hope you check out p2. Hello Future Me just uploaded how he would fix season 1 and it's really interesting too.
is that a joke what's wrong with the lion turtle 🗿🗿. Also, yes, you are right about the love triangle. Amon is still a hypocrite and deceiver. It means destroying the ideology, of course, and making it a joke and meaningless.
One change i would make to Korra to be more consistent with the original is how Korra should've learned the elements. In episode 2, Tenzin says that the hardest element for the Avatar to master is the one most opposite of their personality, However in the og show, the element that was most difficult for the Avatar to master was the one most opposite of their birth element, So shouldn't have it been firebending for Korra to struggle with the most? Another thing is that Korra is already shown to be bending 3 elements at a young age, even though an Avatar's first element is always meant to be the element of their nation.
Great video. It's always amazing to see TLOK readapted to match its true potential. Despite how the show 'angered' me for all its mistakes and ingenuities, I've always felt it had massive underutilized potential. Now, one thing I'd change of this rewrite is the setting. The 1920s technology still feels odd to me, no matter how many metal benders and lightning benders there may be in the world. Since only 70 years pass between ATLA and TLOK. War ships, Air ships, submarines and the like would certainly be more available, but I would reserve the more industrialised look for major cities like Republic City. No radio, airplanes and mechas whatsoever. I would also set a sort of adventurous tone similar to ATLA in order to explore and dwelve deeper in the geo-political, cultural changes that happened between the two series (then again, I've only watched the first season, which limits the worldview to Republic City)
Think Hello Future Me made a video breaking down how the technology leap kinda makes sense but yeah. It took me a while to get used to it for sure! And that's a great idea too
I loved basically all of it, except the portals. I despise the fact that there are PORTALS that you can travel to the spirit world with, meaning there are no spiritual powers or concentration needed to go there. It just completely removes all the badass from iroh being able to go there and the significance of the avatar being the bridge between the two worlds, since now anyone can just walk and go inside.
Hahaha thank you! And I actually did mean firebend because if she's the Avatar and she's seen waterbending, then the White Lotus members would have said well she could be just another waterbender living in the Southern tribe. But if she firebends she's clearly the Avatar because no girl from the Southern Water tribe should be able to firebend. Also, firebending is the element that always came most naturally to her
@@countyfactswailuigi feel like that's an Airbender thing since thats how they pick the Dalai Lama and airbenders are loosely based on the ancient tibetans!
An idea about amon. I never liked the he's a bender twist, and i had a different twist. Amon cant take away bending, but he make people believe he can. He can use a chi block that take longer to come off.
But where are the odds if that we're to be the case? In the original series, Korra cries when she loses her bending. And in my version she takes a long time and effort and doubt to get it back. Dozens if not hundreds lost it to Amon in both versions too. If he was just a chi blocker then nobody would fear him. His menace would be nonexistent Maybe if his story was true and the spirits truly gave him the power work better for you?
I would like to point out a few things bending didn't come from badger moles, dragons, sky bison and the moon. Think of them as the ultimate masters or teachers rather than givers of bending. If they were capable of magically giving someone bending than would non benders like Sokka or Asami become benders just by looking at the moon? Toph only learned how to better use her bending because she had the badger moles as her teachers but I think she already could earth bend before she met them. Think of Katara in book 1 before she properly trained she still could water bend from the beginning. Also how does Korra already knowing three out of the four elements "contradict" anything?
Oh you're right they don't come from them but in the original series it's implied that people learned by watching and interacting with the moon and the sky bison, etc. Some people could bend and others couldn't. Some people could externalise their chi and others can't. I recommend Hello Future Me's "Is bending genetic?" video. I think that's more interesting than having lion turtles give people bending. So no Sokka or Asami cannot learn bending in any way. Toph and Katara are supposed to be prodigies but are honestly great benders simple because the story needs them to be. In the original series we learned that each element is supposed to take years of practice. Avatar Roku took 12 years to master 3 elements. Yangchen before him was also an adult when she mastered the 4 elements. Each one is extremely difficult to master. So having a 3-year old baby bend 3 elements with no training or even knowledge that she can do it contradicts what Avatar Roku showed Aang, as well as how the series emphasizes on bending being hard to master
@@SG98Films Why can't Korra just be a prodigy? I don't understand how Korra being able to bend three elements is a contradiction. It literally has nothing to do with Roku or any other avatar. Every avatar is different.
@@SG98Films People magically, through genes, got bending, and you think that's better. I respect your point. But no, this is not better of course 🤔. Also, this will not explain who the lion turtle that Aang met, and it will be a plot holes
@@kylejackson7913 I agree korra was really a prodigy in the elements. Also, I don't understand why anyone would even want to remove the lion turtle which was the explanation for the origin of bending and was one of the coolest creatures in the show.
Korra was as Razbuten summed up a beautiful mess. It had flaws but much of the bile was misogyny (i.e. a woman who's brash and confident is labelled as "a bitch"). Even at her worst moments Korra is motivated by concern for others and she DOES ultimately grow out of it.
Ripley from Aliens which has a mostly male audience has always been loved. I doubt her gender had thaaat much to do with it. The boys from Star Wars also warmed up to Ahsoka for example. Think it has more to do with Nickelodeon making the creator's lives impossible
disagree about Mako's instant lightning. The show tries to avoid making Bolin and Mako bending prodigies like their predecessor Team Avatar, moments like instant lightning and lavabending are the moments where Mako and Bolin get the shine they deserve. They're modern day benders, doesn't mean they're weaker
But how can non prodigies do what most benders can't even dream of? How can a non prodigy instantly lightning bend and do it faster than Fire Lord Ozai or Azula?
She wouldn't have written it if it was a biography. A biography is a book written about her by someone else. Had it been an autobiography, then there would be problems, but even then she could've just told someone what to write for her anyway.
Your gonna hate me but I personally hate the idea of Katara ending up with Zuko🤣. I know that the show runnners literally considered it but I've never been a fan💔

is that a joke what's wrong with the lion turtle 🗿🗿. Also, yes, you are right about the love triangle. Amon is still a hypocrite and deceiver. It means destroying the ideology, of course, and making it a joke and meaningless.
I can't thank you enough for getting rid of the lion turtle .yeah some animals dance and make you a bender after watching it more logical of course 👀🗿
To ME: Raava should look like Shiva from Final Fantasy: 16, and as for Vaatu as Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen.
And that's a great idea too
@@SG98Films Many thanks!
Legend of Korra already IS a masterpiece.
Feel free to feel that way!
Thank you. The sad part is that it could have been even better but it already is better. I prefer to come back to it rather than AtLA.
It's awful
I loved basically all of it, except the portals. I despise the fact that there are PORTALS that you can travel to the spirit world with, meaning there are no spiritual powers or concentration needed to go there. It just completely removes all the badass from iroh being able to go there and the significance of the avatar being the bridge between the two worlds, since now anyone can just walk and go inside.
Well when Iroh did it the portals were closed. Korra opens them much later
Right, that’s what I meant. Now it doesn’t matter if you can go there on your own, there’s just a giant portal you can walk through now
Aaron Ehasz was not involved in the production of Legend of Korra for that time he was Riot Games
I know. Thats why on the video I said that in this alternate reality I could "replace him as the third writer" hahaha
2:23 I think you mean waterbend.
Great video! I enjoyed your season 2 rewrite a lot. What a huge improvement that would be.
Also, firebending is the element that always came most naturally to her
@@SG98Films They could have found out she was the avatar if she chose the four avatar relics, but I see your point.
His menace would be nonexistent
Maybe if his story was true and the spirits truly gave him the power work better for you?
@@SG98Films yeah, but it's your story not mine, you do you.
@@wintersoldier164 🙌🙌
this is just amazing
I just rewatched my own video too lol. It'd been ages. I really put some thought into it haha!
I recommend you give part 2 a watch!
Aang was a prodigy but he wasn't busting out all 4 elements at 2 years old@@kylejackson7913
I wanna see how you would do a followup to Korra about a new Earthbender Avatar.
Oooh thanks it means a lot! Funnily enough I have my own head canon of how that next avatar would be hahaha
@@SG98Films
Cheers. I like to know what it would be.
Great video!

Can you Talk About Kaitou Joker?
15:55 you get it, chaos and order are neither good nor evil but also how did toph write a biography, she can't write
She wouldn't have written it if it was a biography. A biography is a book written about her by someone else. Had it been an autobiography, then there would be problems, but even then she could've just told someone what to write for her anyway.
Korra is a masterpiece
Thank you. The sad part is that it could have been even better but it already is better. I prefer to come back to it rather than AtLA.
