WHFS made my life what it is. I first heard Leo on HFS. I also first heard the Dead Kennedys, Jaco, Fela, Gang Of Four, Richard Hell, Richard Thompson... you name it. I lived right on the edge of signal. It was always a struggle. I would end up in weird parts of the house, listening to the radio. On top of a ladder, in the garage.
Thanks for the interview. I just saw Leo. I didn't expect to find WHFS related stuff. Serious business. I learned so much about music from listening, and calling and bugging the DJs for info.
Just checked the Friends of WHFS Facebook...Don't even mention Leo Kottke's Poor Boy as Tom Grooms show theme?... more inaccuracies...Little John used John's Other by Hot Tuna and Sarah used Water song... We wish Mr. Kottke a speedy recovery.
