I had never seen that grasshopper float before; and I'm a little bit obsessed with it. Like, I want to see the grasshopper return, and be a character on trading pins...
Fun fact: it's thanks to Bob Jani that we have a closing Fanfare, Don Dorsey didn't see a need for one beyond the experiment at the Orange Bowl, thankfully Bob (who was Don's boss) talked him into adding the closing fanfare)
Actually, the 1974 version had an It's a Small World Unit. The proof is in the 1974 Special Herbie Day at Disneyland, which also has footage of Alice riding the spinning snail.
If it’s true that fantillusion is still in storage, they should ship it to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando which is the only main park that doesn’t have a light parade. It would fit right in because I always viewed it as a sequel to Spectromagic.
@@stepintothemagic2035 I always assumed fantillusion was destroyed based on rumors and given what happened to spectromagic shortly after fantillusion ended its run. What makes you think it’s still in storage? If it’s really still hanging around somewhere, to me sending it to the Magic Kingdom makes perfect sense. I honestly would have been satisfied if that was the parade that replaced spectromagic, even if it is the watered down Paris version.

When are you going to do tokyo disneyland electrical parade dream lights because you can do the history of the original tokyo disneyland electrical parade.

I have a good feeling the MSEP will return to Disneyland for its 50th Anniversary. If Disney does scrap it in the future, I hope that they'll give Disneyland its own DreamLights update.
Back in 2001, instead of having the electrical parade to go for Disney California Adventure. They should have made it go back to Disneyland, after the failure of light magic. And I wish that Disney could have created a copy of the electrical water pageant for Disney California Adventure, that could have made a performance for the paradise lagoon. I don’t know if you saw the recent TikTok, but it looks like this parade will return to Disneyland in 2022. However, I agree with Tony Goldmark’s reasoning in his “Escape From Vault Disney” podcast (which I hope is one of the rare episodes that makes it to TH-cam) that it is once again being used as a distraction from the fact they are raising prices again. I guess it’s OK to be a little cynical, sometimes.
