I brought 2 Beaver Atomic masks about 12 years and 800+ dives ago for £30 each, still going strong. Wear one and spare goes in drysuit pocket, alternate them so don't know which one is which but they get about equal wear.

I have a big nose problem aswell. It took me several masks to find one that was comfortable. I ended up with the tusa freedom HD. great review by the way. I do like my apeks stuff, but their pricing has become stupid now.

Great review... Definitely hit the nail on the head. It looks very cool and has a splash of orange... So it's appealing to me 😅. However the nose pocket is an issue, which it why I retired my VX1... The price point is in my opinion way off the mark. Especially when you can buy a fantastic mask from XDeep for nearly £100 less... Thanks for the shout out and see you soon! 😊

I agree that the Apeks website sucks balls. Half of what they sell cannot be found, information is lacking, and if you ask a question via the website you get non-answers.
Their stuff though is generally very well designed and very competitively priced. This mask may not fit you, and that's fair enough, but that doesn't make the mask utter shite. It makes it a poor fit for you.
I also hate marketing blurb, especially when it doesn't tell me anything about the product. A multi-functional chest of drawers doesn't provide me with any info. A dive mask that can withstand the rigors of the ocean doesn't tell me anything either. It had better be able to withstand salt water, that's what I'm buying it for. But marketing blurb isn't necessarily related to the quality of the product.
There are better masks out there than the Apeks. There are cheaper masks out there than the Apeks. There aren't many better and cheaper masks out there than the Apeks. And £ 100 for a quality dive mask is a pretty standard price.
Great Review Andy. I agree Screw APEX. My $79.00 TUSA mask with my prescription glass will do just fine for me. I guess I need to send Ian some Beeswax for his zipper! I hope Ian didn't wear zippered pants on his latest dive! Its sort of like people who by ScubaPro equipment because it has "Pro" in the name. People thing by buying such equipment will make them a "Pro" diver! CHEERS y'all from Amarillo, Texas, USA.

@@UKDiver FYI - $162 pounds is $239 US dollars. I showed it to my local dive shop owner today. He said Apex Representatives are Bullocks!
I got a vx2 as a gift. Somehow my friend thought the most expensive mask is the best one... Anyway. Overpriced? Definitley. Great face mask? Absolutly, I love it. The protective case isn't great, but it does the job. You should have seen the "holy mother of God!" looks I got from my colleagues when I wore it haha
It is a fab looking mask for sure! 😍 Jisr get yourself a decent box and save the one you got with it for something more appropriate, like the wife’s jewellery 👍😎 Enjoy 😊
The box issue is even worse than you describe; EVA is a polyurethane form which is essentially un-recyclable. That basic Beaver box will be HDPE (same as much domestic plastic packaging) which is immensely recyclable. Good job calling out the greenwash horsesh*t

Best mask ever I have two mask the frameless synergy 2 from scubapro and the vx2 n I like more vx2 more then anything so it’s a 💩 review and let me telling u in ur 👂 the synergy 2 best then any mask u touch it before
Like my VX1s and don't like all that unnecessary crap added on the VX2. Like Apeks stuff, but after a recent run in with them trying to get crap hoses replaced I don't like Apeks. Customer service is dreadful

No it wasn’t and you were raped. Check out the Aqualung Plazma mask. Look familiar? Now look at the half the price you paid for the VX1 price tag 🏷️ Not to mention the Plazma comes with a proper box! Don’t worry, you weren’t the only one who fell for it 🥺
Ridiculous pricing nowhere near as nice as the Beauchat Maxlux S for 60 quid
