Why does some people think it’s a flex to shop at Macys or whatever? Mary you are actively making the world a better place by shopping at goodwill! I think many people forget the devastating environmental impact the clothing industry is having on the planet, and by reusing clothes we are not contributing to the production of new clothing. Also another amazing reason to shop at goodwill or any other thrift store is that they typically do a lot of great things for the local community like charity donations, clothes for homeless shelters and the like.
So no you are not the same. You actively make the world a better place with your shopping and she judges others for their shopping and feel superior for contributing to the unsustainable fashion industry!

My sister used to have the same kind of attitude as ol' white chocolate. I made her tag along with me to a Goodwill back in 2012, she can't get enough of it now. Also, I'm almost 100% certain that ol white chocolate is a child or somebody that has the luxury of not paying bills. Adults and people with real lives understand the excitement of good deals, finds, or bargains! People that claim to only shop "high end" usually are lying. Most of them buy their "name brand" items from a bootlegger, then walk around acting like it's designer lol. Conclusion, she's either a child or just full of it 😁 Loved this video! ❤️

That little coffee mug that had the black tree on it is a thermal tree so when you put your hot coffee or tea in your cup the black fades away and you have a little Christmas tree!
Thrifting is so underrated and a skill. I find brand new high end pieces all the time.
Unless Macy’s is having an AMAZING sale, I regularly shop at thrift stores. Saving money and saving the earth by recycling 👍

My boyfriend loves Goodwill and we stop at as many as we can when we travel to new places. We have found some really nice, expensive, unused things for a great price. This store looked so cute!

Growing up my house was right next to the train tracks.. like 15yard max. Somehow hearing the train in the background of your voice over was oddly comforting lol.

That is a nice Goodwill store. Very well organized and nice stuff. Btw the wooden spoons at about 13:42 are called Russian wooden spoons in Khokhloma design. Very beautiful hand crafted spoons. My grandmother had spoons like that. Whoever gave those away left them in good condition. ❤

I enjoy shopping Goodwill stores because every purchase helps support the Salvation Army and what they do to help the needy.
I shop at Community Aid store near our state capitol and it helps needy folks in the area.

Goodwills are the best, it's a sad state of the culture when being efficient and smart with money is frowned upon but wasting money on name brand stuff for no reason other than its name and the supposed status symbol it comes with is promoted and applauded.
I wish I had the patience for thrift clothes. It overwhelms me how much there is and none of it is the same, thus causing the next frustration of finding something but it not being your size.
I love thrifting, it's great to see the things you focus on as you shop there. When I thrift I love looking at books, blu-ray dvds, furniture and ceramic knickknacks. Last year I was happy to score a (hardly used) North Face winter jacket that I had only been looking for a month at thrift stores near me.

I noticed she misspelled Macy’s. Lol. Not everybody can afford to shop at Macy’s. I am not saying Macy’s is a bad place to shop because I do shop there. But there are people in the world that cannot afford certain things. And let me tell you you can find some pretty awesome stuff at the thrift stores. I found a beautiful French perfume bottle one time. And it’s sold for over $200. I am a reseller. I love going to thrift stores because you find all sorts of treasures.
I absolutely LOVE Goodwills. It’s my one of my favorite pastime to shop at a thrift store. My most favorite clothes are all thrifted. Don’t let the haters bring you down. If anything keep them out of our treasured places lol. Stay out haters.

I can't believe how great the pricing is. Here in Indianapolis Goodwill prices have gone up. They did away with senior citizens discounts, and don't have color tag half price items any more. We had a Goodwill Boutique but closed during covid.

I wish we had good thrift stores like you do. Covid shut down the last few in my area except for one Goodwill. It’s really overpriced. I can buy new things cheaper at Target than there.

That comment made little sense. They also spelled Macy’s wrong. I have never tried shopping at a Goodwill before watching Mary’s videos. Or any thrift store for that matter. Her walkthroughs changed my mind to try it out. We had no luck finding anything but it was a fun adventure.
I love charity shops,I think they are the British version of Thrift shops? Whenever I go to the seaside with my daughter, we always go in the charity shops! Genuinely CANNOT ever remember buying jewellery/clothes/ ECT from a regular shop!

I live in Ireland & would love to have the variety of thrift stores you have in the US. It’s very trendy here to thrift and all the young people seem to enjoy it. I think the negative comments made make the person sound a bit pathetic and insecure to be honest.

I love the idea of thrift stores but as a fat lady I struggle to find quality items. And I feel like fast fashion is clogging the shelves with trash. But I enjoy looking for dvd’s (yes, I still have dvd’s- back off), housewares and bags/purses.
Sounds like white chocolate has some learning to do in this life. It’s actually better for the planet to buy used clothes but it doesn’t sound like that would phase white chocolate. That’s ok we all have our lessons we need to learn in this life right?! Me I’ll buy from the goodwill or macys. Name brand doesn’t matter to me. All I care about is if i like it.
