  • I discovered an old VHS of Hector Olivera playing his famous "Flight of the Bumble Bee" on the Cedar Rapids Paramount Theatre's 3/12 Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. October 1997. This recording was done before any major tonal work had occurred on the Wurlitzer. Enjoy.

I watched and listened to Hector Olivera play in Wilmington De when I was a child. Loved his Flight of the Bumblebee. This brought back fond memories of my going to Organ concerts with mt Dad Thank you for sharing this with the public.

I was in my late teens and early 20s when I saw Hector in Wilmington on several occasions. That man designed and built his own digital "organs" and at a time where synthesizers were still pretty much producing one tone at a time, he played the 1812 Overture like he had a 75 piece orchestra at is finger tips. This has become nearly the norm, now but was novel at the time.
      Hector!

Hector used to do lots of theatre organ concerts. He is one of the most brilliant players alive.
