I wish the stats wouldn't have been metric. I was a crewchief on the CH54A. I loved that helicopter. Max lift capability...20,000 pounds. The CH54 once held the climb to altitude record....maybe it still does? I never liked the CH47 Chinook....too many things to go wrong.
An idea. Using these helicopters to fight fires. Capable of carrying huge heavy loads. A tank of fire depressant " pumped" under high pressure could hover and like a " mower" move and stop burning. A tanker truck could be on location with ability to refill the tank.
The CH-54 is now adopted for that role! Search S-64 to find it in it's civil designation :)

If your going to include the MI-10 (only has 8 ton carrying load) which is no longer flying then you should include the MIL V-12. which was designed to carry 25 tons, ended up carrying 40 tons. The Mi-26 is only 20 tons.

The V-12 existed only as a prototype....it never been a production model. Moreover the Mi-10 is still in use :)
