all the concert footage is from Sydney Showground concert. This was the opening song and after the first note, thousands of fans jumped the fence and charged the stage. Thousands got the best seats in the house.! I was up in the stands. It was quite funny to see the security guards run for their lives!!! Luckily the fans stayed on the grass and we all enjoyed a great show.!!!!
Checkout live at Madison Square Gardens (1973) Since I’ve Been Loving You, any song live from that is amazing, it was filmed for their movie The Song Remains The Same.
Led Zeppelin took their time to let each member shine. During their heyday a Zeppelin concert could run 3 1/2 hours. Even drummer. John Bonham, got up to a half hour for a drum solo. Personally, I think that was a bit excessive, but Zeppelin were all about excess in the best possible way.
This song was written after they went to Iceland, they became interested in the Viking Invasions. My understanding is it was written as a joke really, but fans loved it, it opened many of their early concerts. It’s one of their songs, that’s been in several movies. I believe the footage wasn’t professionally done, like like other other concerts were. So many great live performances captured in time, & we can watch decades later. Thank you for your reaction.
Now that's a coincidence, Tommy Johansson just did a cover of Immigrant Song last Friday 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Saw these guys in 1974. Great concert 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥 Maybe try When The Levee Breaks next. One of the best drum intros ever. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It was a great privilege to see your reaction to the Led Zeppelin again and the look on your face said it all and you had a heavenly beautiful smile with a sparkle in your eyes you could see you really was enjoying yourself while listening to the song and you paid them such a great compliment your a gracious lady who really appreciates great music and it's always a pleasure to hear your opinion that's always positive
Hi there 😊 Great song, and great performance. Just imagine being lucky enough to be in that crowd and experience Led Zeppelin ! Thanks for your reaction , love you video's 😎🤘
Thanks William. I do like reading the comments and replying but you guys make it really easy with such awesome comments. I'm always blown away by the time people take to leave these awesome comments so I like to give credit where it's due.
This footage is from the Sydney Australia Fairgrounds in 1972, the sound is spliced in from the Long Beach, CA show (same tour). The pace and raw power here exceeds the studio version (opening track on LZ3, released 10/05/70) with an extended guitar solo to finish the song. They opened shows with this from 70-72. Thx for the video!
@@johnwalsh9144 this was the closest video footage to the Long Beach/ La forum audio recordings that there was no video of. I like that they at least tried to tie it together as close as possible timeline wise.
@@danielgerald4551 Agreed! This 72 tour was amazing, but got overshadowed by the Rolling Stones legendary tour the same year, travelling with A listers everywhere they went and of course the infamous Hells Angels incident.
You may be interested to know this was recorded on their Australian tour in the 70s, and the footage is of a concert in a football stadium in (I think) Perth - you can see the footy goal posts.
You may be right about the film footage but the music was recorded on their USA tour of 1972. It's the exact version on the live triple album, How The West Was Won.
Yes, outdoor festivals were my thing in the 70's, especially the Knebworth festival in Herts, England. I went to four of those and saw bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Genesis, Tom Petty and many more in their prime. The one I'm most happy to have seen was Lynyrd Skynyrd before the plane crash. Check out the best ever version of Freebird from that gig sometime: th-cam.com/video/vm7bkVxBXdA/w-d-xo.html
For SCHOOL OF ROCK, Jack Black made a short video asking Led Zeppelin for permission to use the Immigrant Song..... if you want a laugh def worth a look!
If she decided to branch out slightly and do a few movie reactions (get ready to EDIT with all caps...), her reactions to School of Rock and This Is Spinal Tap would be pretty epic, I would say...
“ Valhalla, I am coming” is one of the greatest lines in rock history! I saw LZ live in 1971, in by Manchester, England 🏴. It remains the loudest thing I have heard in my 70 years alive.
Led Zeppelin was so good they could make a song about Vikings a huge hit. LOL. But here is a true masterpiece version of this song. th-cam.com/video/ApxnAr6pRt0/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, this is a masterpiece. I listened to it for years and never figured out the lyrics until I heard this cover (a swing version by Robyn Adele Anderson, th-cam.com/video/0PiVI0E2Cqc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=RobynAdeleAnderson). I don't think you've done any reactions to Carlos Santana, so here's my recommendation for outstanding guitar at a festival: Santana - Soul Sacrifice 1969 Woodstock live concierto HQ, th-cam.com/video/JaaT_HRb4GU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GuitarDocs. This was his breakout performance, and he followed up for many years with some of the best guitar work you could ask for; definitely on par with Paige and Clapton.
📜🖋On comments: Getting "friends" and/or family to schedule time and come together to watch videos like this, or even movies, is now entirely impossible for a huge percentage of people. Everyone is in their own little space now, with their own priorities, and their own niche interests. On an in-person level, I would suggest that the West has lost its sense of community. This was in the movies Shrek The Third, School Of Rock, and Thor Ragnorok. It’s a great song in an era of great music. Good reaction
They are magnificent...especially live! I'm 65...a teen in the 70s...most fantastic time of my life!
