There’s a good parallel between being in the ocean and the mountains. Both remind you off just how tiny you are in the grand scheme of things. Looks like you were river surfing on the Bow River which stays mighty frigid year round, being a Glacier fed river. As a Banff local who fly fishes that river, I can attest to how cold it is, regardless if it’s winter, spring, summer or fall.

The funny thing is that I have been out in the middle of the doldrums more than once (Sargasso Sea) in my three meter yawl (the one in my pic) and have relied only on myself and my Creator to survive. Solitude is solitude... different subject than the polar opposite...no? Sea level and high altitude are polar opposites, and that's all I was saying. Maybe get off the caffeine, prescriptions, dope, glue ... idk, whatever the eff your problem is. Looking forward to your response...don't leave me hanging.

He already did come to tofino in 2016. He went with redbull and as part of the video he poured gasoline all over a log in our precious watershed, lit it on fire, and winched in to jib it. Pissed off every local by purposely introducing gasoline into the watershed where salmon spawn in traditional native territory. There was so many angry comments on the redbull vid and online that they took the video down, removed that clip and re-uploaded. He never apologized, he's not welcome here.

I know how you feel mate. First time seeing snow in NZ few years ago went snowboarding and on the 3rd day went heliboarding. First time in chopper we took off on edge of cliff near bungee launch at Mount Hutt. We didn't know if chopper had left ground then all of a sudden we were flying backwards off cliff. To get speed pilot told us as he laughed. Was first heli for season aswell. Was with pro snowboarder, 1st run started at top of mountain with frozen waterfall which looked like 10m high jump down into mass chute to bottom. Snowboarder said he was carving off that, dropping off there and launching down bottom. He said you're quite alright to follow if want. Me thinking I was pro 3rd day ever seeing snow thought I could do it. I went up trying to carve but turned to ice at top, slid out then backwards down and off massive drop into powder. That woke me up for sure. 3rd run trying to get more speed down steep mountain in deep powder I kept leaning more and more forward like skating or surfing only to all of a sudden nose dive face first into powder. Awesome day new adventures. Avagud1. In Western Australia we don't get any snow.
Awesome stuff but I think he has to try the actual binding free version of "powsurfing". The boards he's using are "powder snowboards", still dope though
My home! Only $1500+/day haha. I've heli'd this region with Purcell's, was an amazing day for $1000/day...or $120/per run (we did 8 laps!). Too bad you came on one of the worse snow pack seasons of the decade east of Rogers Pass. probably why they kept you on one main run instead of touring the area on steeper terrain.
