Just found out hours ago that I have cancer and am going for 8 wks. of daily radiation.....dammmit. So....I got home and started a little therapy of my own.....youtubing my large bookmarked bunch of favorite songs from my days when all I cared about was playing ball and having the stones to talk to my latest faraway crush. FWIW I'm 67....and a youthful 67 at that....here in '22. So far, I've played both major hits from Brenton Wood when I was in 7th grade....Gimme Little Sign and Oogum Boogum. Already my spirits are raised, and I'm just getting started. I'm crankin' them for a few hours more. OK, so I see Sarah Collins has covered Gimme Little Sign. Hmmm. Normally, covers make me cringe, but Sarah....if you happen to read this....you NAILED this one too. God Bless you for sharing your talent on TH-cam. Perhaps you just might not think anything of it.....but you see, you already helped one guy who was dealt a pretty good blow today heal his wounded soul. Sarah! In the annals of soul this stupendous classic must rank somewhere very close to the top of the list, just as your phenomenal voice must as well. The way you cajoled so much beauty and sweetness out of the single word, "sign" is an example of this. You turned a single word into an entire melody, Sarah!! xx.

Wow. Was looking for this song after seeing it on the Shack movie Nothing ever is like the originals but this is the exception. Truly great voice. It's easy to see in your eyes you love singing to. How fun it would be to sing with you going down the road. Lol.

I did not want to like you-as I love ALL the soul originals and respect them so much. But you are so amazing!! I Love all the soul greats-The Temps and Motown, the Northern Soul c;lassics etc, The Tams etc but especially David Ruffin-the best soul singer of all time. BUT-you are really great!!
