I don't plan on printing my slides, I want the highest quality possible scans. From what I've seen so far that's 48 bit color depth, saved in TIFF format. How do I set the software to get the 7,200 PPI-without caring out output size?

How can I tell whether a slide is Kodachrome or not? Can I assume that ONLY Kodak produced Kodachrome (e.g. not Agfa, Fuji, etc)?

      Yes, only Kodak made Kodachrome.

When you selected 10 inches, is because its the best setting to print an 8x10 photo, or something else? I have the software and the scanner and intend to print many 5x7s and some 8x10s of kodachrome slides from the 70s. Should I use the kodachrome option? Thank you!

Yes, the setting of 10 inches will give you the best results while maintaining the aspect ratio. Since 5x7 is not the same aspect ration as 8x10 you might have to try different values. If you're scanning kodachrome slides from the 70s, it would be advisable to use the kodachrome option. This is because the kodachrome option is tailored to the specific characteristics of kodachrome slides, which will result in better scan quality. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.
